It takes a village to bring a successful visionary project to life. It is the general contractors who coordinate the integration of Sing products, according to architectural specifications into the what will be the end product and seeing that it is properly showcased in the project, ensuring proper installation and customer satisfaction.

Note that while we work with general contractors often, we only ship to the millwork or door manufacturer specified by the GC, as our product is unfinished and requires a qualified millwork or door manufacturer to finish.

SingCore is the secret ingredient in the process of bringing the best things to life.

How Sing Core Works With Contractors

Sing Core supplies valuable components to the construction process. Patented Sing panels, posts and beams are integrated into projects where the characteristics of lightweight, high strength, insulation and alternative Eco-friendly manufacturing options are either sought after or used in solving the problems associated with large scale projects.

The process works something, like this:

  1. The Architect specifies, “SingCore” inside the products, let’s say, a large pivot door
  2. The General Contractor seeks out a qualified Millwork who obtains unfinished pivot door from Sing Core
  3. Sing Core manufactures the pivot door blank to architectural specs and ships to millwork
  4. Millwork finishes and installs hardware and provides finished pivot door to the job site
  5. Installers hang and or install the pivot door

The resulting large pivot door can be guaranteed not to warp, bend, twist or otherwise fail (including full structure warranty) for 50 years. No other door can offer such integrity, unless it has, “Sing Core inside.”

Contractors are the backbone of seeing that SingCore products look and maintain their high performance standards following installation. Contractors make up a segment of the professional trade industries that we serve.

Why do contractors seek out SingCore?

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAThere are predominantly two reasons that contractors seek out SingCore the first is that someone (architect or client) specified “SingCore inside” any of the products in the job they are currently working (or bidding) on. The other is to solve problems faced on a particular project, usually concerning extremely large structures, mitigating the disadvantages of heavy building materials, energy conservation (insulation), temporary, collapsible or moveable structures.

#1 Big Doors

The number one reason a contractor seeks out SingCore is to provide a fail-free solution to problematic large oversize doors, which are over seven feet tall and more than three-and-a-half feet wide. The biggest problem with these big doors is that they are likely to warp, if not soon after installation, then at the next change of season. The other issue with big doors is that they weight a lot, which means expensive large door hardware plus extra stress as strain on the structure with regular use.

Sing Core large non warping doors lightweight stronger than steel 50 year guaranteeBig doors are a pain for the contractors who like to guarantee their work. If big doors are involved in the project, usually they will guarantee everything but the big doors. If they’re lucky they might be able to pass on a limited one year warranty to the customer directly from the manufacturer, otherwise the customer must accept the responsibility for insisting on an oversized door.

SingCore to the Rescue: With SingCore inside, your large doors (up to 50 ft or even larger) can be guaranteed warp-free for 50 years! Now, it’s no problem for a properly designed and built door with SingCore inside to be covered by their standard warranty, because SingCore guarantees the door for 50 years.

Lightweight

Not only are SingCore doors lightweight, straight and true, but this applies to any use of SingCore products, like dead-flat worktables, floors, walls, ceilings and other building components. We often get compliments from contractors who have a few people handling these big doors or large slabs of building material without using heavy equipment and cranes normally required to maneuver these materials on the job sites.

The light weight of SingCore enables contractors to install products that are built to last and reduce maintenance costs over time, because the lightweight materials are less likely to compromise the frame of structure (like a large heavy door might). This also reduces risk of on-the-job injury due to working with heavier materials.

Super Strong SingCore

Strong galvanized steel doorsContractors not only like the lightweight benefits of SingCore but have enormous appreciation for the unparalleled high strength of this revolutionary building material. Independently tested at University at 660+ PSI, undoubtedly SingCore is the strongest of all lightweight building materials (other honeycomb-type materials generally rate at between 10 and 100 PSI).

The strength is due to the patented reinforced vertical grain torsion box core that creates a solid structurally sound substrate that is stronger than steel pound-for-pound.

Higher strength means better job quality and fewer service calls after the job is completed creating happier customers and long-lasting professional relationships.

Insulated SingCore

SnowGreenStorageBox1The torsion box voids of the SingCore substrate are not left empty but feature rigid foam core to fill the otherwise left empty space, left hollow in most traditional torsion box solutions. Made in the USA SingCore adheres the reinforced torsion box between two stress skins with formaldehyde-free adhesives resulting in a solid Eco-friendly insulated RSIP (reinforced structural insulated panel) that outperforms any other SIP (structural insulated panel).

The added insulation provides sound-deadening qualities as well as climate control with insulation values of R3.5 and R6.5 and up (depending on design specifications and available materials).

Unfinished SingCore

Contractors who are new to SingCore may not realize that all SingCore products are unfinished, unless otherwise stated. That means that either the contractor will be doing all the finishing, installing hardware, framing and finishing as may be required.

For this reason, we like to know that your Sing products will be handled properly to both represent the quality of the contractor and the SingCore material achieve their highest and best and we’re likely to ask, “Who is your millwork?”

Millworks

Easy assembly of lightweight high strength modular components seattle center for architecture design on siteMillworks provide the fine detail finishing required to make the Sing products shine at the job site. If your general contractor has their own fine woodworking shop in-house, no problem. It’s easy to work with and requires only standard woodworking tools found in any wood shop. Otherwise, we suggest having a local millwork handy to complete the finishing details of your Sing product or large door for the best results.

50 Year Guarantee

Raising the bar as high as it could possibly go in customer satisfaction, your premium large door (or other product) can be guaranteed warp-free for 50 years. Only premium SingCore products can be designed and manufactured not to warp, bend, twist or cup. The warranty also includes full structural warranty on the entire structure of the premium SingCore piece for the full 50 years also.

Insulation: Sing Core has built-in insulation value with an R3 to R6.5 rating per inch, depending on client’s needs/specifications.

Sound deadening: Sing Core’s filler material has natural sound-deadening properties. Other sound-deadening options are available at customer request.

Light weight: When compared to other materials Sing Core weighs much less, as much as 50% less, or more, as little as 4 lbs. per sq. ft. yet eco-friendly. This advanced technology used in the aviation industry is now available for use in your home.

Strength: Sing Core based on 2″ x 2″ grids and 3/4″ thick = 660 PSI. For instance, aluminum 3/8″ grids = 30+ PSI (smaller grids should be more strength). Sing Core’s superior strength comes from its advanced torsion box design.

Solid: Sing Core is solid like a rock. While the vertical wood grain torsion box core may be compared to other hollow honeycomb cores, the Sing Core voids are not hollow as they are bonded wall-to-wall and filled with recycled foam for a strong, solid substrate.

Eco-friendly: Sing Core is manufactured using natural wood fibers, no formaldehyde, or toxic chemicals, is created using less energy than any other core material with little or no waste.

Renewable: The structure of Sing Core is 100% renewable (nature-grown) clean fiber and/or recycled material.

Oversize: Sing Core excels in area of large oversize products due to its unique properties and can be up to 50 foot length.

Dimensionally stable: Sing Core is the most dimensionally stable building material allowing us to create large, oversize products (i.e., doors, up to 50 ft.) that are true flat exceeding AWI standards and can be guaranteed to be true flat. Large oversize panels can be truly dimensionally stable without any movement due to temperature and moisture change.

Affordable: Even though Sing Core technology is used in high-end applications, we make it affordable for broad use in a large number of applications. Sing Core performance is comparable to any high-end core but could be as little cost as low-end wood product core.

Waterproof upgrade: Sing Core is available in waterproof upgrade, to accommodate your specific water resistant requirements.

Fire retardant upgrade: When used in fire retardant applications, the Sing Core fire retardant door is the lightweight, super-strong, eco-friendly alternative.

Bullet-proof upgrade: In high-security end products, most cores used in bullet-proof applications are heavy in weight, causing strain on the infrastructure, unlike Sing Core.

Thickness available: Sing Core is readily available in many thicknesses, up to 6 inches in standard thickness, with custom thicknesses available.

Skin options: Available in many different exteriors including (but not limited to) aluminum, cement board, cold roll steel, concrete, ceramic tile, fiber glass, galvanize metal, glass, MDF, metal, plastic, plywood, solid wood, stainless steel, etc…
