Sing Core has always been on the leading edge of the reinforced structural panel industry.
Our panels are among the lightest, strongest, and overall best on the market.
Watch the video below and hear how solid our doors really are.
This panel is super thin for its overall span. Overall thickness is only 1 3/4″. Our patented torsion box honeycomb allows us to create lightweight high strength panels that can be any size without any warping. Solid wood would be very heavy and can potentially warp shortly after being produced. This panel is a whopping 65 1/2″ x 120″ and only weighs 139.6 lbs.!
As you can see, the skin is birch plywood that is less than 1/8″ thick. Combined with our torsion box honeycomb design, this panel will be stable and remain rigid for many years.
Due to this panel being truly flat, it can stand alone on edge. If there was any deflection, the panel would be unable to balance.
Thin oversized panel standing on edge.
Can any anyone else achieve this?
Let us know!
If not, share this with a friend who may need our patented technology.
<tbody=”border: none;”>
A door with these dimensions is greatly feared by many door manufacturers. A door like this is nearly impossible to build without having issues. Common issues with doors so large and so thin include warping, delamination, prevalent weak points, and many others. If this were produced with solid wood, the door would be unable to stand alone due to not being true flat. Sing Core’s true flat doors and panels comply with AWI standards and can stand alone.
Sing Core’s patented lightweight and high strength torsion box honeycomb core design makes building oversized doors easy and provides lasting strength and durability. We know our doors and panels are among the lightest and strongest on the market, so we guarantee every door and panel for 50 years!
We never do veneering in house. We only trust local professionals for veneering services. Sing Core only provides substrate to be veneered. We highly recommend using your local veneering professionals. Veneering requires highly trained professionals to ensure a quality finished product.
Our substrate with MDF is very good for hot pressing as well as preventing telegraphing in the outer skin. This is the best option for ensuring a quality veneered door panel. With Sing Core substrate and 1/8″ MDF, no cross-banding is required. MDF is a very stable substrate to use.
For other applications, plywood is very strong and provides the best dimensional stability. This is the best option for applying overlays, such as wood staves, drywall, concrete board, etc… We offer many different plywood options, see our skin type page for more information.
Sometimes called stable doors, half doors, and double-hung doors, a dutch door is an exterior entry door that is cut in half, and the top section is hinged to open separately from the bottom. A popular rural look, these doors allow the top half to be opened for ventilation while keeping the bottom half closed to keep in children and pets.
Dutch doors offer a unique rustic look that can bring a ting of nostalgia to your kitchen door, patio door, or other exterior door design.
What is the purpose of a Dutch door?
Dutch doors allow their top section to open independently of the bottom. In essence this allows the door to function as a window, for ventilation and cooling, while keeping the lower portion closed to children and animals.
Likewise, in modern design inclusion of half doors in a design offers the opportunity to connect interior and exterior spaces while maintaining a delineation and element of protection for the inside.
Modern Dutch Doors
SingCore’s slab style construction opens the way for a modern style dutch door. The hallmark of modern style is clean lines and clear shapes. Further, our wood grain panels offer warmth of real wood in either wood stave or veneer.
Blow your friends away with a steel or aluminum skinned dutch door for that high tech finish.
If you can dream it, then we are able to make your dutch door dreams a reality. Other skin options include, paint grade plywood, veneer ready (apply your own styles and rails), HPL, plastics, ceramic ready, stone ready, and more.
Are Dutch doors energy efficient?
Although dutch doors do offer one extra seam, with proper weather stripping they can be just as efficient as other doors.
Additionally, SingCore dutch doors come with our patented foam “honeycomb” core which provides extra protection from sound and the elements. Need high efficiency doors? Ask about our high density urethane foam option for double the thermal protection of our regular professional grade panels.
Can I cut a SingCore door in half?
Our SingCore panels may be cut in half using typical wood working tools. You will encounter foam, wood, and possibly a small amount of aluminum depending on the style of panel. In order to finish the expose edges, you would need to route out the core from inside the skin, and glue in new strips of wood to seal the end.
However, at sing core every panel we make is custom to order. We are more than happy to build dutch door panels directly to your size and specifications. Don’t bother cutting your door in half, when you can have the right panel ready made delivered to your shop or job site.
How much is a Dutch door?
SingCore panels are sold by size, and so a dutch door will be close to if not exactly the same price as a regular door of the same size. For pricing and a free consultation on your next project, request an estimate today.

SingCore is able to provide certified fire rated doors. (Certified fire ratings may incur an additional cost.) SingCore does not fire rate doors in house and should be designed by an engineer proficient in engineering fire rated doors.
How do I know if my door is a fire door?
Your door should have came with documentation certifying its provenance as a fire rated door. Some doors may have their fire rating stamped or otherwise indicated on the door panel itself.
Which doors need to be fire doors?
The placement, rating, and number of is heavily dependent on the requirements of your local governing bodies, and my necessitate compliance to federal, state, and potentially county or city level requirements. Pocket doors have become an integral part of modern architectural design. Despite the many advantages of pocket doors, they do present unique challenges in both the manufacturing and the installation process.
pair of 14 ft. x 3.5 ft. x 2.5 in. warp-free sliding pocket doors
About Pocket Doors
Pocket doors are desirable as they are invisible in the opened position as the pocket sliding doors are hidden away in cavities within the walls in one, or two opposing, wall(s). Pocket doors serve as a retractable room divider, functioning as an elegant and effective method to separate one large space or two adjoining spaces, while the sliding door divider(s) disappear(s) into the wall.
Proceed with caution, as pocket doors can be hugely problematic if they move according to changes in the surrounding environment. A warped pocket door will damage the finish as it rubs against neighboring surfaces and if it bends or cups too much can get lodged inside the wall, and the bigger the pocket door, the greater likelihood of warping.
There are many reasons to have your pocket doors made with Sing Core but the number 1 reason is to stop worrying about warped pocket doors once and for all by specifying
Sing Core Inside Your Pocket Door
Thanks to inventor Peter Sing’s patented and patent-pending large pocket door technologies, you can have an Eco-friendly pocket door that is lightweight, high strength, fully insulated for sound deadening and climate control, covered by Sing’s
50 Year Warp-free and Structure Guarantee
There is no other way to build a high precision (Sing Core tolerance is +/- .006 in.) sustainable pocket door that can remain straight and true, spanning the test of time.
The Best Pocket Doors
Sing Core has become known for making some of the largest, most impressive sliding doors on the market. Pocket doors are sliding doors that slide into a pocket in the wall. Certain customers have come to know Sing Core, not only for our sliding doors, but also for our magnificent pocket doors. Introducing the best pocket doors!
Pocket Door Challenges
The concept of pocket doors seems simple very simple. They are similar to sliding doors in that they slide on tracks and typically use rollers to open and close. The big difference is that they slide into a pocket that has fixed dimensions inside the wall. If the door warps or skews, the door cease to function. You will not be able to open or close the door because warping will change the dimensions of the door.
Warp Free Pocket Door
Over decades, we have developed our patented and patent pending materials that allow for super strong, light weight, warp free door construction. Warping and skewing present significant problems for pocket doors, because pocket doors must slide into a fixed space inside the wall. Any deviation from specifications will prevent the door from fitting into the space. When this happens, your door will cease to function. You will need to buy a new door, change out your hardware that may bend or break as a result of door malfunction. In some cases, you also need to rebuild your door frame or your walls when they are ruined from doors being opened and closed.
But we have solved all of the problems associated with large pocket doors and large sliding doors. When you use Sing Core products, you not only get a door that exceeds AWI standards in terms of warpage, you also get a door that’s guaranteed against warping for 50 years. Because of our special design methods, you will get a door that ensures proper functionality for decades.
Large Pocket Doors
The larger the door the bigger the challenge. Large pocket doors are more susceptible to warping. In order to function properly, they must be specially designed to resist warping. Larger doors must be specially constructed so that they are warp free on installation, as well as, over time.
Ultra High Strength – A large pocket door must be exceptionally strong to stand up to the most rigorous use. At Sing Core, we have revolutionized door strength with Peter Sing’s patented and patent pending technology that allows us to build doors that are very high strength, tested independently at over 660 PSI.
Super Light Weight – Up to 90% lighter than solid wood doors. Sing Core’s specially engineered core uses Peter Sing’s revolutionary design to bring a solid door strength to doors that allows for super light weight performance.
Straight/Warp Free – Specially designed stiffeners built into our doors make sure your doors are warp free over the long haul for better performance and function.
Structurally Stable – With our groundbreaking process, we can make doors that are built exactly to your specifications, and will not skew or shift over time. That way, you have a door that functions worry free for decades.
Eco-friendly – We support sustainability by using renewable, eco-friendly materials, so our products are better on the environment.
Guaranteed – When it comes to guarantees, no company on the market can do better. Our Sing Core Professional Panels are used for doors and other high end applications where stability and precision are of the utmost importance. All of our Sing Core Professional panels come with a whopping 50 Year Guarantee against warping, cracking, breaking, and skewing. Name one other company who can do this. Most companies don’t even offer a one year guarantee, but we can do this because our products have such a strong track record of performance.
No one can make panels as large, yet warp free like we can! You have our guarantee on that.
All of our products are 100% made in the USA. We take pride in supporting our country. That’s why you won’t find any products that aren’t made in America here. We also use high quality inputs that are sourced from local suppliers.
Door Skins
Our door system allows you to specify almost any skin for your doors. We specialize in high quality wood and metal doors. We have several options depending on your budget. Our paint grade ply option is our most economical option. Next is our hardwood veneer option. Mahogany, oak, walnut, and alder are popular. We also use 1/8″ wood stave on our highest end option, which gives you a solid wood appearance, but has our specially engineered core to maintain the light weight feature our doors are famous for. We also make metal doors. In our metal doors category, we specialize in cold rolled steel, but we also have a very popular aluminum option.
Sing Core High End Giant Factory Sliding Doors Increase Productivity
Sing Core Large Factory Sliding doors can be used for all kinds of industrial purposes. They are ideal for warehouses, hangars, factories, plants, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial and commercial scenarios. Using our patented and patent pending technology, we manufacture doors that are easier and less expensive to install, lighter in weight, so they allow you to use less expensive hardware than doors made by the competition.
Huge 20′ x 12′ x 3.5″ inch Large Factory Sliding Door for Industrial Use.
At this factory, the workers were struggling daily with their large factory door that was warping and twisting, due to environmental factors. Their door was excessively weighty and the door was extremely difficult to open and close. Door functionality was severely impaired, because of warping and twisting. It was also peeling and falling apart, due to poor construction. The managers knew they needed to fix the problem, but not just any door would do. This is why they called upon Sing Core to solve their problems.
Sing Core tackled the problem immediately with their patented solutions. First of all, because of the size of the door, they knew they would need to solve the weight problem.
With our patented and patent pending methods, solved the weight problems. This huge panel measures 12’ x 5’ x 3” thick, yet it only weighs 121 pounds so it can be easily lifted by two men, as you can see in the photo. This demonstrates there are no other panels on the market as light and large as Sing Core panels.
The Strongest of the Strong
Tested independently, in UW labs, as able to withstand force upwards of 660 PSI, Sing Core, hands down, manufactures the strongest material in its weight class. Large doors need higher strength to stave off potential warpage. That’s how we provide doors that are stronger, lighter, and more warp free, according to AWI standards.
Our panels can support the weight of a grown man with next to zero flex.
Sing Core doors also come with nearly any skin. Our most popular skins are Alder, Mahogany, Western Red Cedar, Fir, Pine, Hemlock, Balsa, Birch. Even better, we can apply hot rolled or cold rolled steel, aluminum, copper, bronze. Your doors are only limited by your imagination.
If you need the highest strength, lightest weight, most warp free large sliding doors and large pocket doors, available in more skin options than any other door, you need Sing Core doors.
Huge 20′ x 12′ x 3.5″ inch Large Factory Sliding Door for Hangars and Warehouses.
This revolutionary new door has so many skins available that you will find it suits every possible purpose. You can use this door as a large factory door, a huge sliding hangar door, massive barn doors, very big manufacturing plant doors, colossal barn doors, and other magnificent bay doors that will leave your guests and customers in awe.

Another advantage to Sing Core is that you can apply any kind of skin or finishing. This photo shows high quality siding applied to the huge factory door. The siding is very easy to apply and is great in exterior weather conditions. Whether rain, snow, or hot sun, your door will be protected against the elements every single time.
Applying siding to your door will offer superior weather proofing.
Giant factory doors are a Sing Core specialty, as you can see here from the picture, which shows how large and well built our doors are.
Massive 20′ x 12′ x 3.5″ sliding factory door with siding.
This photo shows the true scale of the door. When you see a full grown man standing in front of it, the massive nature of the door is apparent.
Sing Core Triple Panel Sliding Door
There are many ways to build a door. One of the most effective ways is to build multiple doors that open together in one space. There are advantages to covering your door opening with more than one panel. This allows each panel to be lighter and it offers more versatility with your hardware. Hardware does not have to be as strong, because the the weight of the full door does not rest all on one track. Also, it is much easier to install a door in sections, because very large doors tend to be heavier and much more difficult to install.
Singcore patented and patent pending technology allows us to make doors that are so large, yet so light they can be opened with just one fingure. Over the years, we have done so much research and development in the areas of strength and light weight attributes that we have been able to make panels that are much stronger, pound for pound, than competing products. When you need large industrial doors that hold up under the most rigorous conditions, Sing Core has your door.
Hidden doors, or jib doors, are the most particularly demanding for high precision because any misconfiguration or door warp will make an otherwise invisible door stick out like a sore thumb (literally), and if it’s too far out of plumb, it may not operate at all.
Thanks to inventor Peter Sing’s patented and patent-pending hidden door technology, you con create a flawless, high precision invisible hidden door that will operate without fail. other advantage of using Sing’s core within your hidden door include possessing an Eco-friendly door that is fully insulated for sound deadening and climate control, lightweight (one-third or less the weight of other wood based solid core doors), high strength (at 660+ PSI, stronger than steel pound for pound), impact resistant (Sing says, “kick my door, break your leg”), highest precision (Sing Core sports .006-inch tolerances), and here’s the kicker,
50-Year Warp-free Guarantee
The only way in the world to build a sustainable lightweight high strength hidden door that can be guaranteed not to warp, bend, twist, or otherwise fail (including delamination) for 50 years, is to have your door build with Sing Core inside.
Sing Core is known for it’s large, showy doors. But, our lightweight door technology has many varied applications. Whenever style and durability are a factor, Sing Core panels deliver where others cannot.
A Unique Addition to Your Project
Nothing sells a finished product like the little touches. When you think that everything else has been tried, consider adding a hidden door to your project.
Hidden doors allow for additional space utilization in a design while minimizing visual clutter due to door framing and hardware. This gorgeous example, built by one of Sing Core’s clients using our patented lightweight honeycomb technology, oozes refinement and class. At a glance, the door melds in to the hallway molding and leaves the lines unobstructed.
Our Panels are Your Canvas
An artist cannot paint without a strong canvas, likewise a builder cannot make living art without strong building materials to form their creations.
Sing Core door slabs come with a 50-year warp-free guarantee that demonstrates the underlying stability and quality of our materials. We stand by our ability to create doors that are:
Lightweight
Sound proof
High insulation value
Straight
Strong
and Dependable
When You Client Demands the Best
May companies on the market offer a variety of door cores. We acknowledge that our product is not the right solution on all situations. For doors of usual sizes and applications, or exacting production standards leave little flexibility in pricing to meet budget demands. Where our doors shine is in very large, high tolerance, or very high end applications.
When all that maters is the best possible outcome for your project, then remember Sing Core and our patented and patent pending “honeycomb” door technology cannot be beat.
Smooth, Flush Trim, and Anything You Can Imagine
Flush is just the start of the possibilities when it comes to high end custom doors. With Sing Core almost any possibility to can be realized. Almost any size can be realized using the unique strength and straightness of our honeycomb core. Too thin and too big are not in our vocabulary.
The real question is how big can you imagine? What do you and your clients seek to realize?
A Miraculous Material
Many people are surprised to see how much then can accomplish beyond the norm with Sing Core backing their work. For us strength is really not a problem. Warping can be relegated to a fear of the past.
We would be boosting to say these things if the product didn’t warrant the praise. But in this case we can, in humility, say that what we provide top end millworks, construction companies, and architects pushes the boundary of what is possible.
When you use Sing Core you are in the driver’s seat. Do you want metal skin, solid wood skin, paint, plastic, fiberglass? Almost anything can be realized with less weight and greater strength than even aluminum or other space age door technologies.
What Can We Do For You?
Although we aren’t the right fit for every project, when your design has unique needs remember that Sing Core is there to back you up.
Patented Sing Core solid wood stave door blanks feature the newest technology in the door industry for composite doors yielding the only eco-friendly, lightweight, fully insulated, high-strength doors with wood blanks of any size (up to 40 ft.) that can be guaranteed true flat and to stay flat for 50 years.
Large door versus regular-size door challenge (i.e., over 4 feet wide and over 8 feet in length):
Large doors are heavy, dimensionally unstable, require more strength due to the heavy weight, and are a challenge to manufacture, ship and install. High-end jobs require precision and true flatness to please the customer. A homeowner’s architect, general contractor and mill worker must solve the problem of warping doors. The solution to the challenge is to use patented professional true flat Sing panels to make your doors.
Sing Core wood stave door planks are the only solid wood doors that will not warp, bend, twist or cup following installation. This means no more continuous service calls for maintenance of big doors that cannot possibly stay straight due to the limitations of solid wood – or any other door core – that is subject to failure. Sing panels have a patented honeycomb/torsion box interior which gives lightweight yet unsurpassed strength (pound-per-pound stronger than steel) and stability to any door, and allows Sing Core to provide a 50-year guarantee
Interior Doors:
Sing panels make amazing designer doors in any style. With Sing panels, fragile doors such as French doors are made lightweight yet strong, not warping or breaking hinges, which will last for many decades.
Exterior Doors:
Sing panels make sturdy exterior doors in any style. With Sing panels, exterior doors are lightweight and strong, even when oversized. Our professional doors are guaranteed to stay true flat and not warp or twist for 50 years
When is a door not a door? When it fails to function as a door.
The problem is that all door core materials are either not high precision, too heavy or will move when exposed to moisture, humidity or change in temperature resulting in door failure.
Heavy solid metal or steel will not warp, bend or twist, but is not high precision due to welding (sing core tolerance is + or – .006 inch!) and is often impractical due to the overweight issues causing excess strain on both the hardware and structure, causing continued maintenance issues. The solution is our patented lightweight yet strong Sing core technology.
Finishing a door blank:
There are two types of finish for door blanks: paint grade and wood grain. Paint grade includes such finishes as metal, Masonite, marine plywood, etc. Wood grain finish includes such finish as solid wood stave and thin veneer.
Why Use Solid Wood Instead of Veneer?
Never settle for substandard veneer doors again. Door engineers prefer to use inexpensive veneer as opposed to real solid wood facings because veneer is thought to be less likely to warp, bend or twist. But thanks to the super-strength of patented Sing Core technology, you can use solid wood stave and wood blanks with confidence knowing that your door can be guaranteed true flat and will stay flat.
How can a solid wood-faced door stay true flat? As every woodworker knows, when using a solid wood surface, the grain will move according to moisture or temperature change causing the door to fail. When using our patented Sing Core as a substrate you can safely use solid wood because the solid torsion box/honeycomb patented material is continually keeping the wood grain straight and true. Whereas wood stave has more wood fiber giving it more of a chance to warp than thin veneer due to the unbalance of the both side of the door moisture contents, patented Sing technology solves this problem by combining stiffing skin on both side of our patented Sing core. This Sing panel technology eliminates the troublesome movement of the door blank — warping is no longer a concern when wood stave is combined with patented Sing core.
In addition, solid wood is easy to work with, install (no need to hot press), repair and remodel. That’s why professionals trust Sing Core’s years of expertise in helping to design the only wood stave doors (that look just like solid wood doors) that can stay straight and true for many decades while respectfully honoring the beauty and elegance of solid wood, which far outlasts easily-damaged veneers, yet can be sanded and repaired if necessary.
Celebrate your real wood!
Our Eco-friendly lightweight, high strength alternative is the best solution for combating the issues associated with weight and size, especially large doors. Only our patented Sing torsion box/foam composite core combined with our years of experience provides guaranteed solutions for oversize doors.
That’s why this technology is found everywhere, from beneath the sea (US Navy) to outer space (NASA) and everywhere in-between.
Sing panels may be finished in almost any wood species, like mahogany, redwood, teak wood, cherry wood, walnut wood, cedar wood, Ipe wood, sapele wood, poplar wood, ebony wood, ash wood, oak or any other hardwood or exotic wood types available.
This same wood blank composite technology is also a common solution for high-end projects like engineered hardwood flooring, shiplap, wood furniture, wood shelves, decking, shed doors or any other application demanding high precision and exemplary performance over time.
How is wood stave/veneer added to Sing panels?
Wood stave is added directly to the metal or wood skin our patented Sing cores. Wood veneer is added to an 1/8-inch mdf attached to the metal skin.
