The True Flat Challenge

The true flat door is a challenge for architects, door manufacturer, millworks and general contractors, especially if the door is 1 inch thick (or more), over 8 feet wide and/or 16+ feet tall.

If you’re looking for the answer, you might Google search how to build a true flat door.

Oversize doors present the biggest challenge for true flatness, but they also present other issues that must be dealt with in high end homes and/or commercial applications in terms of weight and strength. Again, let’s see what Google has to say about lightweight high strength true flat?

The clear answer is Sing Core; a new invention of material that is playing a major role – not just in building large doors – but almost anything that requires (or desires) to be Eco-friendly, functional yet elegant for inside/outside a home or in building and construction that needs to be light, strong and sustainable

Aluminum composites are common in the aerospace industry, but are cost prohibitive and not user-friendly for mill working or broad earth-bound use. Sing Core is designed to be used in millworks and does not require any specially-trained labor or specialized equipment; treat it just like you would any other standard wood-based substrate material.

Sing Core’s true flat process utilizes vertical grain torsion-box/foam-core/aluminum composites to deliver the solution. Contact us for more information, and if you like, we will show you how to integrate this new technology into your operation.

Meeting the Highest Demands

MoveWallWindowWe maintain the highest degrees of integrity when meeting the requirements of our clients, and their customers, assuring complete satisfaction. Most importantly, proper communication is the key. If you have certain expectations – and you let us know – our team can deliver the product that matches your specifications.

Simply by providing us with your dimensional requirements:

  1. height
  2. width
  3. thickness

along with what your preference for visual presentation (exterior skin material) and performance expectations are, we can provide you with the solution to best suit your application.

How Do We Do It?

When you explain to us what your expectations are, we know how to create the product that meets or exceeds your expectations. For instance, if you require a 17 foot tall oak pivot door that is true flat.

First of all, if the pivot door were solid oak, it would fail the standards test due to the raw material. Natural wood will warp, twist and crack if left to itself. Not to mention being heavy in weight. The excessive weight is an added strain on the integrity of the structure and hardware, increasing maintenance costs over time.

large-lightweight-high-strength-garage-carriage-doorsOur designers will likely prescribe a solution that begins with a Sing Core base material in the center which is by itself perfectly flat. Adding oak wood staves is where the problem comes in; because natural wood is unstable and will compromise the overall structure. To combat this issue, our team may fuse the Sing Core material to aluminum to complete the substrate composite. Then, when the exterior oak faces are applied to the structure; like magic, the result is a lightweight, super strong solution that can be perfectly flat.

The resulting Sing Core lightweight solution does not compromise the structure or the hardware eliminating expensive repairs and/or maintenance.

That’s just one example. Some of the materials used in our true flat composite resolutions that battle the temperature and moisture weaknesses that accompany utilizing natural components (like wood) include

Our lifetime of experience dedicated to solving the challenges of architects, designers and craftsmen who serve the most prestigious clientele, especially in terms of sustainable, lightweight, super strong and true flat solutions that maintain structural integrity over many years, while retaining the beauty and elegance of natural wood (or any other desired external material).

Metal is used across many industries. Metal honeycomb composite is the leader in honeycomb cores used to create stronger and lighter metal panels as well as posts and beams using much less solid metal.

Sing core is the leading technology of metal honeycomb composite material that solves our future Eco-friendly energy solution by using Sing metal honeycomb composite at a fraction of the weight of solid steel, but is stronger, lightweight, and available in steel plate, steel beam and steel panels.

Tell the US Energy Department to do some home work and research the Sing solution. If you believe Sing Core will help us use less metal thanks to Sing honeycomb metal.

Case study #1: Do not waste more precious metal if you could use Sing Metal honeycomb panel, post and beam.

Replace steel by using Sing 13 ft x 3 ft x 1 inch Sing honeycomb metal plate for use in conveyor.

1 Advantage: Precision true flat – within thousands of an inch – the majority of metal fabrication relies heavily on welding that causes the metal to deform. Sing metal uses structural glue, nuts and bolts instead of welding metal plates onto the steel frame which takes more labor, energy and end the product will not match the same precision as Sing Metal honeycomb panels.

2 Easy to fabricate and install – lightweight metal is safer to process, costs less to transport and uses less labor to install.

3 Less cost: Solid metal takes many times more metal than Sing Metal panels, posts and beams. It is expensive to transport, takes more energy to process and the most important thing is that Sing Metal is much less expensive than solid metal planks or sheets. If the strength, lightweight and Eco-friendly attributes are considered you may never go back to solid metal again.

Case study #2: If your seeking to improve your products with greater precision, true flat doors or panels, walls, floors, ceilings, RVs and/or boats then we’d like to teach you to Sing.

True Flat Guarantee premium certified true flatThis is the latest technology to build true flat doors. If we are able to build a true flat door then you can believe that we could make true flat floors, ceilings, walls, etc… all lightweight, high strength, long lasting and endless benefits just by Singing with us.

Doors are a challenge for door manufacturers and mill works if the door is over 8 ft in length and less than in inch thick.

One of the Sing aluminum honeycomb panels are used as door substrate. It used in almost all major high end residential and commercial door applications due to the true flat characteristics. AWI standards for true flat include deflection of ¼ inch, which is unacceptable for Sing Core. We can minimize deflection to 1/8th or even 1/16th according to your pre-arranged specifications and application requirements to ensure satisfaction.

But if you have a door over 12 ft – even over 16 ft tall – and less than 1.5 inch in thickness and you are wishing to have the least deflection than you need to contact www.singcore.com to find the true flat solution which is use aluminum panel as substrate than add MDF or AB plywood for paint grade door or by cold or hot press to add finish veneer to build the most beautiful, strong, lightweight eco friendly door.

Doors made of Sing Aluminum honeycomb substrate do not need to acclimatize due to there being no moisture difference on either side of the door substrate.

Sing Aluminum honeycomb door substrate can be machined or drilled just like wood without retooling or damaging your blades. It is easy to glue with proper clean up procedure.

Large over size doors for high end building project require the true flatness. Patented Sing Core is the ultimate solution for high end mill work across the country.

Sing Timber

What is Sing Timber?

Sing Timber is a large mass of wood that can be milled to any specification. Its versatility is exemplified by wood shops who saw the large timber masses in more specific smaller planks as needed. Sing Timber can come in 12 inches wide by 12 inches tall and 96 inches in length, or you can get it already cut-to-order as Sing Hardwood.

Sing Timber can be broken down into any thickness and width, to create your own wood plank. You do not have to inventory all size of plank just by sawing Sing Timber to the desired thickness. You can slice the Sing Timber to any desired width, all you have to do is to seal the deal by gluing an exterior skin on the fresh sawed side to finish your new plank.

How Can I Use Sing Timber?

Sing Timber is manufactured with a heart of Sing Core,  coverd with exterior skins on at least two sides form a large box like timber mass. It  can be sawed horizontally, sanded and glued to form a smaller wood plank. It will create any dimensional wood and it cabn be covered any hardwood species, metal, plastic or even cement to create a new generation of ulitmate lightweight, high strength products.

Sing Timber is Better than Hardwood

Sing Timber’s Sing Core makes this the only hardwood material that is better than hardwood, for a integrous building material that is just a beautiful as solid natural hardwood with far superior structural integrity.

Sing Timber’s high-strength is due to Sing Core that is less expensive than solid hardwood. When Sing Timber is produced, the energy savings are impressive, as the actual production process uses less energy, man hours and equipment usage and produces little or no waste. Sing Timber is also sonstructed of low cost, renewable natural wood fiber and recycled EPS foam. Patented Sing Core is many times stronger than most of the core materials used in modern aircraft with much less weight and a fraction of the cost of core used in the aircraft industry. The cost can be less than 10% of the inefficient core used in aircraft design.

Compare other type of honeycomb or core materials , sing core is the only core physically and cost effective to build Sing timer which will turn to hundreds of different products for many industries.

How does Sing Timber work?

Simply stated, Sing Timber can be used as any regular lumber, cut to fit your appropriate application, as in shelving, Or you could add a solid wood edge to enforce the strength and add fastening anchor point for mechanical fastening.

When working with Sing Timber with a router, be certain to attach wood strips to the area to be routed, as the exterior wood surface along the face is minimal.

Sing Timber is versatile

Our most popular format in Sing Timber is the 4×12 in 8- and or 10- foot lengths. It can be used as a stand-alone post and/or beam as is, or (here’s the exciting part) can be turned into so many different products for multiple applications. For example…

Sing 4×12 lumber can be easily sliced into alternate widths and thicknesses to suit your needs. No need to make multiple trips to the store to pick up the lumber you need, simply slice Sing Timber 4x12s into the size that you want on-site; Perfect for the millworker or ambitious do-it-yourselfer.

By sawing the sandwich panel cross the Sing core to form two pc of sing sandwich without skin on one side than add new skin or add new solid wood to build a two sandwich panel or two Sing panels at different thickness. Sing Timber is easily broken down into any dimension wood plank or hardwood. Sing Timber can be easily sliced to substitute for standard 2×4 lumber.

How Do You Add Hardwood Stave?

It is easy to add a sardwood stave to any cut or sawed section of Sing Timber.

Firstly, all you have to do is to sand the surface of your freshly-cut exposed Sing Core section of your plank.  Apply urethane glue or white glue to the smooth surface, then press. It’s that simple to turn a selection of Sing Timber into your own Sing Beam that is just as visually impressive as solid wood, but lighter weight and stronger than steel pound for pound.

Sing Timber is Strong and Straight

It is very hard to find straight hardwood without bowing, twisting or cracking.  Solid hardwood is heavy, and hard to work with.

Sing Timber is an eco-friendly solid wood composite material with a patented Sing Core interior that results in lumber that is straight and flat, unlike any other building material on the planet.

Sing Timber is also available pre-cut as Sing Hardwood.

Shaking Up Metal Fabrication to its Core

Red-Hot-Lightweight-Aluminum-PanelsSing Core’s Metal Fabrication Department is shaking up the industry!

Our new applications are changing how to fabricate metal panels: Don’t’ Get Framed!  One of our clients, I-5 Designs, has us expanding our capabilities to meet the increased demand for the longest, most beautiful aluminum panels that are eco-friendly, lightweight and stronger than steel.

Traditional metal fabricated panels expend excessive energy in their creation, using aluminum framing and the result is a panel that looks acceptable but has no strength.

This is extremely advantageous when maintaining structural integrity over long spans… Check out this page on our web site: . You will see these 37 foot long beautiful ruby red aluminum panels that we are so proud of. Lightweight, eco-friendly, superior strength and gorgeous; you must see it to believe it.

Insulation: Sing Core has built-in insulation value with an R3 to R6.5 rating per inch, depending on client’s needs/specifications.

Sound deadening: Sing Core’s filler material has natural sound-deadening properties. Other sound-deadening options are available at customer request.

Light weight: When compared to other materials Sing Core weighs much less, as much as 50% less, or more, as little as 4 lbs. per sq. ft. yet eco-friendly. This advanced technology used in the aviation industry is now available for use in your home.

Strength: Sing Core based on 2″ x 2″ grids and 3/4″ thick = 660 PSI. For instance, aluminum 3/8″ grids = 30+ PSI (smaller grids should be more strength). Sing Core’s superior strength comes from its advanced torsion box design.

Solid: Sing Core is solid like a rock. While the vertical wood grain torsion box core may be compared to other hollow honeycomb cores, the Sing Core voids are not hollow as they are bonded wall-to-wall and filled with recycled foam for a strong, solid substrate.

Eco-friendly: Sing Core is manufactured using natural wood fibers, no formaldehyde, or toxic chemicals, is created using less energy than any other core material with little or no waste.

Renewable: The structure of Sing Core is 100% renewable (nature-grown) clean fiber and/or recycled material.

Oversize: Sing Core excels in area of large oversize products due to its unique properties and can be up to 50 foot length.

Dimensionally stable: Sing Core is the most dimensionally stable building material allowing us to create large, oversize products (i.e., doors, up to 50 ft.) that are true flat exceeding AWI standards and can be guaranteed to be true flat. Large oversize panels can be truly dimensionally stable without any movement due to temperature and moisture change.

Thickness available: Sing Core is readily available in many thicknesses, up to 6 inches in standard thickness, with custom thicknesses available.

Skin options: Available in many different exteriors including (but not limited to) aluminum, cement board, cold roll steel, concrete, ceramic tile, fiber glass, galvanize metal, glass, MDF, metal, plastic, plywood, solid wood, stainless steel, etc…

Easy to machine: Sing Core is easy to work with in the shop or on-site for sawing, sanding, adding solid wood implants, gluing, cutting and fastening.

Fast turnaround: In you’re in a rush, only Sing Core can be custom made within 24 hours and is proudly manufactured for you in the USA.

Even though Sing Core is less expensive than most solid material, the end result is more structurally sound, lightweight, will not compromise over time and reduces the amount of man-hours and equipment to install.

Sing Core is a honeycomb sandwich panel composite material with built in structural grids. Sing Core could have the exterior surface skin of any material including, but not limited to wood (seen in photo), metal, plastic, glass, Kevlar, even concrete and cement. The strength of our design is due to the structural grids made of naturally abundant, renewable, vertical grain veneer wood fiber. Sing Core is constructed in a fashion similar to torsion box technology most commonly found in the aeronautics and space exploration industries.

This technology is what allows our panels remain strong, lightweight, and flat without denting, cracking, and warping. See a comparison here. Inventor Peter Sing uses this torsion box technology, along with wood fiber and foam to create patented Sing honeycomb core: the incredibly strong, true flat, lightweight, renewable composite material of the future. Check out our products section to see a few different applications.

Engineering Myth-busters

  • Heavy is not equivalent to strong
  • Lightweight is not equivalent to weak
  • Expensive material does not ensure high function
  • Solid material is overused and not ecologically responsible

Most construction is a waste of materials, natural resources and has a negative impact on our planet. Solid materials are overused in an attempt to increase the strength or lifespan of the project. This excess of materials and resources is not necessary… and can be likened to killing a fly with a machine gun.

It may be hard to believe, at first, but for the first time in our history, a truly responsible structural alternative can be found in Sing Core technology. Many of our clients were skeptical when they queried us about our lightweight and strong solutions to their design challenges.

That is why Sing Core is the secret ingredient found in the homes, offices, estates and showrooms of royalty, political and religious high-end environments. Once you try the Sing Core alternative, you will never go back to traditional building materials in some cases.

Traditional honeycomb panels have come to the rescue addressing the lightweight needs of industry. Sing Core is compatible to (if not well out-performing) most honeycomb technology in terms of weight, but no other honeycomb core can compare to Sing Core in terms of strength. None.

Before today, you did not know about Sing Core’s environmentally responsible solutions to function and sustainability. Now that you do, what will you do with that knowledge?

Take the Sing Core challenge.
