New Park Opens With 10 Sing Core Doors

Charleston, South Carolina recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new park, Carr-Richardson park. The park features a mid-sized structure for community gatherings, and the amazing builders of this project decided to use Sing Core for the doors.

The structure features 10 total Sing Core doors, all of which are beautiful artisan grade sliding doors. 2 doors measure 53 inches by 121 inches, while 8 of them are 79.5 inches by 121 inches, making these overall quite large doors.

To the right is one of the shop drawings used in the concept creation process of these doors.

The park went with Sing Core for a few reasons, one of which being the size of the panels they needed. Traditional panels of this size would be incredibly heavy, and if they weren’t, they would have to sacrifice strength in order to shed some weight. Sing Core panels are both lightweight and strong thanks to the patented honeycomb core used inside.

The doors can be seen all around the building, mainly near the numerous glass windows it has. These doors are attached to rollers above the windows, and intended to slide over and cover them when needed. This could be handy for protecting the windows from severe weather, potential break ins and vandalization, and more.

Sing Core panels are also a great choice for this feature, as their inherent strength and impact resistance allows them to protect the building for many years to come.

The architect that the city consulted for the job was Liollio Architecture and the construction was contracted through Mashburn Construction, both of which are local to South Carolina. Liollio did an amazing job with the designing of this park, and Mashburn’s construction and installation of the doors was incredible. Beautiful end results like this simply aren’t possible without amazing designers and construction professionals.

An article talking about the park was written after its grand opening, which you can read here.

We are thrilled to have been a part of this project, and are tremendously grateful for the business and support of the teams involved in creating this park. Sing Core takes great pride in public projects such as this, as it allows us an opportunity to give to the community and encourage more people-first projects.

If you’re working on designing or constructing a park, building, or other public place, consider using Sing Core for the best doors on the market. You can learn more about the applications of Sing Core in public places here.

The Benefits of Sing Core for Portable Structures

Sing Core and Your Build

Sing Core provides many benefits to permanent structures and designs, but what about portable ones? What value comes with using Sing Core for your tiny house, expo setup, or other portable structure? In this article we will answer that question, and explain how Sing Core can make your portable build so much better.

What are Portable Structures?

Portable structures are builds, projects, and other miscellaneous designs that are made to be portable. While different people may have different opinions on what makes things “portable”, it ultimately comes down to a few key requirements: size, weight, and durability. Portable things are hardly portable if they’re too big and heavy to move, and you wouldn’t even want to bother with a “portable” object that’s going to break within just a few uses.

A few examples of portable structures include: tiny houses, trades show/expo booths and displays, teardown buildings, etc. In general, portable structures need to be able to be moved either with or without disassembling them, and this presents a number of problems and possible complications.

Portable Structure Problems

Portable structures face many potential issues, particularly when being transported. Structures like tiny houses must be stable, well crafted, and tightly secured otherwise they risk severe damage during travel. Trade show walls need to be lightweight enough to be moved and assembled by one person, but sturdy enough to support product and sign boards. No matter the portable structure, it presents a significant chance of being damaged or destroyed if not built and handled properly. That’s where Sing Core comes in.

The Sing Core Solution

Sing Core alleviates the pains of dealing with portable structures significantly. Sing Core is already used to build high end tiny houses and the best trade show panels out there, and it can be used to build many more projects as well. The lightweight and strong nature of our product lends itself to being used for portable structures, as it reduces the risk of the previously mentioned complications.

Sing Core panels are much lighter than the standard building choices, no matter the size of the panel. Not only does this make transporting large portable structures possible, it also makes assembling and disassembling them much simpler and less dangerous. Trade show displays can be easily moved and assembled, pop-up structures can be put up and torn down much quicker and safer, and more. The lightweight benefits to using Sing Core for your portable structure are significant, but it doesn’t just end there. Our panels are also pound-for-pound stronger than steel, so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing strength for ease of use and transport. You also don’t have to worry about your structure warping or breaking, as all of our panels come with a 50 Year Warp-Free and Structural Guarantee.

So, by using Sing Core for your portable structure, you get a lighter, stronger, and easier to use end result, as well as a guarantee that it will last for at least 50 years. If you’re considering using Sing Core for your project, feel free to submit a quote request from our pricing page, and we’ll get in touch!

Secrets of the Best Lightweight High Strength Trade Show Booth in the World Revealed

Sing Core’s secrets of the best lightweight high strength trade show booth in the world revealed.  It is no secret that trade show designs based on Sing Core’s trade show booth lightweight panel are by far the best lightweight high strength trade show booths in the world. In this disclosure, Sing Core will reveal and disclose the secret inside their ultimate lightweight portable trade show booths that are used by the most high-end corporations. secrets of the best lightweight high strength trade show booth in the world revealed.

The topic revealed is the highly distinct and exacting trade show design by the top engineers and architects specializing in corporate trade show product displays. We will also disclose an eco-friendly trend of corporations investing in reusable modular trade show displays, when previously they would hire a crew to build a trade show display set for each show and have it destroyed and have the debris transferred to local landfill.

This growing trend is only possibly due to Sing Core’s ability to create large, sturdy, heavy duty trade show display walls as unique joinable components that are lightweight yet comparable to contractor-built stick design trade show and retail displays. Sing Core’s specs exceed traditional building methods due to Sing Core being extremely lightweight, yet dimensionally stable, and extremely high precision sporting +/- .006 in. tolerances.

Large corporate displays can feature designs that are multilevel (two or three stories tall) and can reach heights of 20 feet tall or more. Most indoors, but some outdoors. So, the Sing Tech involved in creating these giant behemoths are different than those used in more standardized trade show booth design.

Introducing the Ultimate Best Trade Show Booth Hybrid

For the first time, Sing Core is going to make this secret high-end trade show booth technology available to the rest of the world that uses trade show display walls that are of standard size, but can possess all the superior attributes of the extreme engineering found in the most superior of all trade show and exhibit builds, at a fraction of the cost.

Secret #1 Tension

A closely held secret and patent-pending invention of Peter Sing’s includes the integration of one or more tension rods connecting and securing any length of successive lightweight panels together. This is the kind of solution that is exciting for engineers and architects specializing in extravagant trade show booth design.

Sing’s tension rod solution can also be found in exclusive modern art museums and displays, as well as in various aerospace applications.

Sing’s tension rod modular trade show displays are connected by a combination of dowels for alignment and one or more tension rods for that solid as a rock security along a long span of interconnected lightweight panels that are, “stronger than steel pound for pound.”

Secret #2 Surface Material

More often than not these high-end designed trade show booth systems require a strong and smooth surface-area for affixing graphic vinyl materials important to the design. MDF and Formica were used in combination, until it was determined that FormicaX2 was the undeniable answer.

Now these ultra-high-end trade show modular exhibits have the FormicaX2 surface, which is a composited double-layering of Formica for an extremely smooth and strong surface area, which is impact resistant, adding to the overall service life of the strong and lightweight modular exhibit display booths.

The Most Popular Ultimate Trade Show Hybrid

The most popular Ultimate Trade Show Hybrid (UTSH) lightweight trade show panels are 2-inches thick, come in either 30-inch or 23.5-inch widths, and stand 90-inches tall, though these panels are also available in 4×8 (47.5” x 95.5” x 2”) for a nearly unlimited number of applications including separation walls (popular in New York-area).

UTSH panels feature the full tension rod/dowel connection method as super strong and smooth FormicaX2 surface material with full Sing Core inside.

This is how to make the best trade show booth in the world, but using only the finest most eco-friendly reusable lightweight panel that is so smooth and stronger than steel.

Sing Trade Show Panels for temporary art show display

UTSH panels can be used for trade show and retail displays, custom exhibits of merchandising, exhibit and museum applications, are perfect for applying, removing, and reapplying custom vinyl graphics, and are undoubtedly the lightest strongest eco-friendly trade show displays in the world.

Inventor Peter Sing says you can have this high rigidity and a high strength-to-weight ratio for your trade shows to use this portable trade show display that is lightweight and easy to setup again and again for a one-time purchase.

Why Our Slats Will Make You Sing!

Amazing Slat Wall System Better than Any OtherSingCore slatwall stands straight and tall above the competition. Our panels have both the qualities of relative lightness yet unmatched durability.

When are looking for a slatwall that you can use again and again, look no further than our patented, lightweight modular panel system.

How much does slatwall cost?

Our slatwall panels are not the cheapest on the market, what you spend on the initial investment, you will make up with long term commitment and durability. One you choose our slats, you will never need to go to another provider.

Pricing is by size. Check out our modular trade show system and our pre-built trade show booths for more information on the system that meets your needs.

Every trade show and slatwall system we sell is inter-changable, infinitely upgradeable, and better than you though was possible.

How much weight can slatwall hold?

A properly built slat wall can hold 100s of pounds.

SingCore slatwall is made of our patented core material. This material has seen use throughout the building industry as structural material in very large doors, walls,  and other architectural uses. Thus, you can rest assured that your slatwall is built just the same as real walls using in top 10+ million dollar homes and bastions of industry.

Super High Strength Light Weight Slat Wall Panels

Is all slatwall the same?

No. Our slat wall is far superior to that used by the competition. While we are not the cheapest wall on the market, we like to think of ourselves as the best.

Have you tried suspending a grown man, of obese stature, over an 8′ span with one of the competitions’ slatwalls? While I don’t recommend it, I do recommend trying it with one of our panels. With an overall strength measured at the equivalent of steel (600PSI) our panels routinely support tones of weight with ease.

What is slatwall made of?

Our slat wall is a core of wooden grids (a vertical grain torsion box), filled in by dense foam and covered by either paint grade plywood or finish grade formica (plastic) sheets. This patented core construction converges on the optimum of both strength, durability, lightness, and environmentally friendliness.

In order to connect the slats wall segments to other segments, or to make walls with corners and doors, we include standard in all our slats high strength industrial camlocks. These locks means you can securely join the walls with just two twists of a driver, yet guarantee that the panels are joined securely to withstand 100s of pounds of force.

How much does a 4×8 sheet of slatwall weigh?

Our standard 4′ wide slatwall segment weights about 72 pounds.

How do you cut slatwall?

Don’t bother cutting your panels, we will do the cutting for you. Every panel we make is built custom to order, so we can make you panels of any size or shape that you request.

However, if you do find yourself in a pinch, and need to cut a panel down to size, our core material is made of soft materials that can be cut with any wood working tool. Be aware that some of our larger panels do have aluminum inside, but the aluminum can be cut with any standard wood working blade.

Pocket Door

Pocket doors have become an integral part of modern architectural design.  Despite the many advantages of pocket doors, they do present unique challenges in both the manufacturing and the installation process.

pair of 14 ft. x 3.5 ft. x 2.5 in. warp-free sliding pocket doors

About Pocket Doors

Pocket doors are desirable as they are invisible in the opened position as the pocket sliding doors are hidden away in cavities within the walls in one, or two opposing, wall(s). Pocket doors serve as a retractable room divider, functioning as an elegant and effective method to separate one large space or two adjoining spaces, while the sliding door divider(s) disappear(s) into the wall.

Proceed with caution, as pocket doors can be hugely problematic if they move according to changes in the surrounding environment. A warped pocket door will damage the finish as it rubs against neighboring surfaces and if it bends or cups too much can get lodged inside the wall, and the bigger the pocket door, the greater likelihood of warping.

There are many reasons to have your pocket doors made with Sing Core but the number 1 reason is to stop worrying about warped pocket doors once and for all by specifying

Sing Core Inside Your Pocket Door

Thanks to inventor Peter Sing’s patented and patent-pending large pocket door technologies, you can have an Eco-friendly pocket door that is lightweight, high strength, fully insulated for sound deadening and climate control, covered by Sing’s

50 Year Warp-free and Structure Guarantee

There is no other way to build a high precision (Sing Core tolerance is +/- .006 in.) sustainable pocket door that can remain straight and true, spanning the test of time.

The Best Pocket Doors

Sing Core has become known for making some of the largest, most impressive sliding doors on the market.  Pocket doors are sliding doors that slide into a pocket in the wall.  Certain customers have come to know Sing Core, not only for our sliding doors, but also for our magnificent pocket doors.  Introducing the best pocket doors!

Pocket Door Challenges

The concept of pocket doors seems simple very simple.  They are similar to sliding doors in that they slide on tracks and typically use rollers to open and close.  The big difference is that they slide into a pocket that has fixed dimensions inside the wall.  If the door warps or skews, the door cease to function.  You will not be able to open or close the door because warping will change the dimensions of the door.

Warp Free Pocket Door

Over decades, we have developed our patented and patent pending materials that allow for super strong, light weight, warp free door construction.  Warping and skewing present significant problems for pocket doors, because pocket doors must slide into a fixed space inside the wall.  Any deviation from specifications will prevent the door from fitting into the space.  When this happens, your door will cease to function.  You will need to buy a new door, change out your hardware that may bend or break as a result of door malfunction.  In some cases, you also need to rebuild your door frame or your walls when they are ruined from doors being opened and closed.

But we have solved all of the problems associated with large pocket doors and large sliding doors.  When you use Sing Core products, you not only get a door that exceeds AWI standards in terms of warpage, you also get a door that’s guaranteed against warping for 50 years.  Because of our special design methods, you will get a door that ensures proper functionality for decades.

Large Pocket Doors

The larger the door the bigger the challenge.  Large pocket doors are more susceptible to warping.  In order to function properly, they must be specially designed to resist warping.  Larger doors must be specially constructed so that they are warp free on installation, as well as, over time.

Ultra High Strength – A large pocket door must be exceptionally strong to stand up to the most rigorous use.  At Sing Core, we have revolutionized door strength with Peter Sing’s patented and patent pending technology that allows us to build doors that are very high strength, tested independently at over 660 PSI.

Super Light Weight – Up to 90% lighter than solid wood doors.  Sing Core’s specially engineered core uses Peter Sing’s revolutionary design to bring a solid door strength to doors that allows for super light weight performance.

Straight/Warp Free – Specially designed stiffeners built into our doors make sure your doors are warp free over the long haul for better performance and function.

Structurally Stable – With our groundbreaking process, we can make doors that are built exactly to your specifications, and will not skew or shift over time.  That way, you have a door that functions worry free for decades.

Eco-friendly – We support sustainability by using renewable, eco-friendly materials, so our products are better on the environment.

Guaranteed – When it comes to guarantees, no company on the market can do better.  Our Sing Core Professional Panels are used for doors and other high end applications where stability and precision are of the utmost importance.  All of our Sing Core Professional panels come with a whopping 50 Year Guarantee against warping, cracking, breaking, and skewing.  Name one other company who can do this.  Most companies don’t even offer a one year guarantee, but we can do this because our products have such a strong track record of performance.

No one can make panels as large, yet warp free like we can!  You have our guarantee on that.

Proudly Made in America

All of our products are 100% made in the USA.  We take pride in supporting our country.  That’s why you won’t find any products that aren’t made in America here.  We also use high quality inputs that are sourced from local suppliers.

Door Skins

Our door system allows you to specify almost any skin for your doors.  We specialize in high quality wood and metal doors.  We have several options depending on your budget.  Our paint grade ply option is our most economical option.  Next is our hardwood veneer option.  Mahogany, oak, walnut, and alder are popular.  We also use 1/8″ wood stave on our highest end option, which gives you a solid wood appearance, but has our specially engineered core to maintain the light weight feature our doors are famous for.  We also make metal doors.  In our metal doors category, we specialize in cold rolled steel, but we also have a very popular aluminum option.

Dallas Innovation Center Ceiling

Sing Core is proud to play a small role in providing materials for the Blue Cross Blue Shield’s C1 Innovation lab in Dallas’ West End.

In the push for creative space that expands the limits of corporate culture and challenges the norm of industrial design, designers are searching for new materials that make their vision a reality. One beautiful example of this trend coming to reality is this space shown below.

Ceiling the Deal with Lightness and Strength

Although Sing Core has wide spread representation in the large door market in high end custom and architectural projects across the country, occasionally innovative professionals will design our product into more creative works. Above you see our light weight, strong, and warp-free patented Sing Core honeycomb technology employed as ceiling that breaks the mold of traditional design.

In this application, our technology provides a solid backing for the stark straight lines that will maintain the crisp lines indefinitely.  While the geometric pattern breaks the mold of lifeless square office spaces and imbues the open design with a creative touch, our lightweight torsion box internal grid structure makes the whole system easy to work with and cheap to hang. Extravagant hardware costs are not longer an issue with our material that is 1/3 the weight of wood yet stronger than steel.

Sing Core in Rehab Buildings

For a few decades now, companies have been rehabilitating old factories and square brick structures for using as cutting edge research and development facilities. Companies find that having a place away from the main corporate office allows for improved creativity and independent thought.

Abandoned buildings provide a unique and cost effective way to attract a younger, hipper work force while maintaining a centrally located position in America’s key cites that the upcoming generation of creative people prefer.

In this environment, Sing Core is a natural choice. Our material itself is a play on natural and commonly found building products transformed in to a form that transcends conventional reality. The strength to weight ratio of our patented core is almost surreal to behold and can be employed in applications that push the boundary of what is possible.

Built for Innovation

These spaces are designed to inspire creativity. These timeless buildings, filled with an air of historical air of conformity, yet wildly out-of-the-box design, present an intriguing paradox that excites the mind to great effect.

Here at Sing Core we are constantly pushing the envelope by iteratively improving our solutions. Although our product is not flashy, our rigidity is the foundation upon which amazing possibilities are built.

Every time that we are able to contribute in our way to the creation of an amazing work such as the C1 Innovation Center, we can be proud of the countless years spent developing and refining our product.
