Sing Core for Offices

When designing, building, or updating an office, there are many factors to consider in order to get the best result. Doors are often overlooked in office settings, despite them being a major part of creating a functional, welcoming, and visually appealing office space. If you want to make the best office you can, you’ll want to use Sing Core for the doors.

Why “Standard” Doors Don’t Work

If all you’re looking for is a door that will simply open and close, then any old option will work. However, if you’re looking for something that will reduce sound, improve the energy efficiency of your building, withstand high traffic, and provide adequate security for your office, you may find the traditional door options lacking. Most doors today don’t perform well on any of the listed features, and many are made hollow, which does nothing for sound reduction or insulation and energy efficiency, and they certainly aren’t secure. Other options include solid wood or metal doors, which may be great for security and aesthetic purposes, but they severely underperform on the insulating, sound, and ease of use properties. There is one door, though, that delivers on all of these and more, and that is Sing Core.

What Makes Sing Core Different?

Sing Core is made with our patented honeycomb core and pressed between two layers of high quality hardwood. This alone greatly improves the sound reduction, energy efficiency, and ease of use. Our honeycomb core is made of wood torsion boxes and high grade insulation foam, meaning it will muffle sound waves and improve your insulation. This also keeps our doors incredibly lightweight without having to sacrifice on strength.

Despite having a composite core, our panels are pound for pound stronger than steel due to the intricately crafted design. This also ensures our panels never warp, which can’t be said for most of the other doors on the market. A warped door is a ruined door, as it hinders it both visually and functionally. Sing Core doors come with a 50 Year Warp and Fail Free Guarantee, so you know your door will continue to look and work great for many years to come.

Another great feature of Sing Core doors is their security features. Our standard doors are strong, and while it would take an intruder quite some time to break through one, we decided to not even risk it in the first place. Our Sing Core Security Door features thick steel beams that run throughout the door, reinforcing it and further securing what is on the other side.

There are even more features that make Sing Core doors great, such as optional skins, customizable dimensions, and much more.

Conclusion

Sing Core enhances office spaces tremendously, both through superior function and amazing visual appearance. If you’re working on improving or designing an office space, consider using Sing Core for your interior, exterior, and specialty doors.

Avoid Door Warping with Sing Core

Why Do Doors Warp?

Avoid door warping with Sing Core. Warping occurs when doors absorb moisture unevenly. When one side of the door expands more than the other, it twists and bends. Eventually, it can bow. Several factors contribute to this issue. For example, sunlight and humidity play a big role. Even the color of the door matters. In fact, materials like MDF often struggle to maintain moisture balance. As a result, they are more likely to warp.

Exterior doors, in particular, face greater risks. They are constantly exposed to changing weather conditions. This exposure includes sunlight, which is a major factor. For instance, dark-colored doors in direct sunlight can heat up to 140°F. As the door heats up, the materials expand. Consequently, this leads to warping and possible failure.

Avoid Door Warping - Example of a Warped Door

How to Avoid Door Warping

  1. Choose the Right Materials to Avoid Door Warping

To avoid warping, it is important to select the right materials. You should avoid using materials that easily absorb moisture, such as MDF. This is especially true for exterior doors, which are more exposed to weather. Instead, it’s a good idea to consider materials like metal or High-Pressure Laminate (HPL). These options resist water absorption, which helps protect the door. If you still prefer wood, however, consider increasing the door’s thickness. A thicker door is less prone to warping.

  2. Control Moisture and Temperature

It is also essential to control both moisture and temperature. Before installing a door, store it in a dry place to prevent warping. For added protection, use a door cover or canopy, especially if the door faces direct sunlight. This reduces exposure to weather. Furthermore, when installing the door, it’s a good idea to leave a larger gap around it. This extra space allows the door to expand slightly on hot days without causing damage.

  3. Optimize Your Door Design with Sing Core

The inside of the door matters, too. Sing Core’s patented technology offers a great solution for warping issues. It acts like a springboard, allowing doors to return to their original shape if they warp slightly. Because of this, Sing Core helps maintain dimensional stability. As a result, your door will stay strong and straight, even when temperatures fluctuate.

Large Interior Door by Sing Core

Why Sing Core Is the Best Solution to Avoid Door Warping

Sing Core provides a lightweight yet strong core. This core resists moisture and temperature changes without warping. In contrast, other materials, such as LVL or particleboard, become heavier as their thickness increases. With Sing Core, however, you get the strength you need without added weight.

To illustrate, we’ve designed solutions for a variety of door types, including:

  • Pocket doors
  • Curved doors
  • Oversized panels
  • X-ray room doors with specific weight requirements

We work closely with architects, millworks, and manufacturers. Our goal is to solve door warping problems at the source.

Patented Sing Core Technology - Avoiding Warping

Can You Fix a Warped Door?

Yes, you can! Even if a Sing Core door warps slightly, it has “memory.” This means that over time, it will return to its original shape. Typically, this process takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. In addition, our team will guide you through the process. We want to ensure that your door performs its best.

Helping the Industry Avoid Door Warping

At Sing Core, we aim to help the entire door industry. This includes architects, contractors, millworkers, and manufacturers. We are happy to offer solutions for large, custom doors. As a result, we help solve existing warping problems and prevent new ones. Furthermore, we collaborate with industry professionals to develop better doors that perform well for years.

Millennium Tower Seattle

The Millennium Tower

The skyline of Seattle is adorned with beautiful spires and towers, and the Millennium Tower is one of the structures to call that sky home. Standing at over 280 feet tall, the Millennium Tower is a testament to luxury and design, as it is home to 19 prestigious condos and sits right off the water in Downtown Seattle.

The Millennium Tower was designed by the Olson Kundig architect firm, and the individual homes within were designed by the architects from Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership. This brilliant combination of efforts has led to one of the most incredible living spaces in the Seattle area, and Sing Core is honored to have been involved in this project.

Sing Core was contacted regarding a large pocket door for the interior of the tower, specifically within one of the condos, measuring 54.5 tall inches by 111.5 inches wide, and 2.25 inches thick. This door weighs approximately 200 pounds, which is substantially less than a door of this size would if made using traditional methods and materials.

Why Sing Core?

Sing Core has long been sought after for use in high end and luxury homes, penthouses, and more. Our patented and patent-pending technologies allow us to create the highest quality lightweight door and wall panels, without compromising on strength or durability. Our panels can be made to nearly any size and specification, and are pound-for-pound stronger than steel. These features, along with the many other benefits of Sing Core, are what led the design teams to utilize our product.

Another large reason the company decided to go with Sing Core was in regards to the type of door they were wanting. Our panel was used to make a large pocket door, which are notoriously difficult. First, pocket doors are a variant of sliding doors that slide into a “pocket” within a wall instead of sliding in front of the wall itself. These doors must be perfectly straight, otherwise they will not fit within the tight space in the wall. Pocket doors are also severely limited on their weight, as a heavy pocket door can prove difficult to use and damaging for the hardware.

Another major complication with pocket doors, especially of this size, is the risk of warping. A warped door is never good, and often leads to total structure failure and replacement. The larger the door, however, the more likely it is to warp due to the increased tension on the surface. Plus, with pocket doors, even the slightest warp can ruin the door and stop it from functioning. A little bend can cause the rollers to jam or break, or if the warp is significant enough, it can start to scrape along the wall inside, or get stuck in the pocket entirely. Luckily, Sing Core doors never warp, and are guaranteed to not warp or fail for 50 Years.

A Successful Project

Despite all of this, an excellent design, a skilled construction crew, and a flawless Sing Core panel led to a gorgeous condo within this incredible building. Unique projects such as these are what allow the luxury design world to thrive, and Sing Core is proud to have been involved in something that is such a testament to this industry.

New Hidden Door Made by Sing Core

Secret Door Made by Sing Core

Are you a homeowner? While Sing Core only sells to industry professionals, we invite you to check out our guide for homeowners to learn how you can get Sing Core for your house!

Secret or hidden doors, while sounding like something out of a fantasy or mystery novel, are a very real and unique feature that many people put into their homes. These doors are practically invisible, blending in with their surroundings and closing to be completely flush with the nearby walls. This Sing Core customer requested just that, and these photos show the product during and after installation. Continue reading to learn how Sing Core can bring amazing hidden doors to your customers!

Why a Hidden Door?

The use for these doors may seem secretive or sinister, but in reality it is often just a clever way to separate rooms without having the appearance of a doorway. For example, if your customer has a lounge room or something similar meant to entertain guests, they may not want a closet door visible among the decorated walls. However, a closet would be the perfect place to store games or other entertaining essentials, so they don’t want to simply skip having one, either. Thus, a hidden door allows the best of both, giving the utility of a closet without having to compromise on appearance.

Sometimes, hidden doors are used to conceal panic rooms or areas of importance as well. This is more closely related to what most people think of when they hear the term “hidden” or “secret” door, and it is a valid purpose. However, not the only one.

How Do They Work?

Hidden doors can function in a variety of ways, often as a flush sliding door as a cleverly disguised pivot or hinge door. They are also often called jib doors, referring to their flush-to-the-wall nature. Regardless of the mechanism, they are trimmed to perfectly and seamlessly align with the surrounding wall, then usually decorated with trim or other details to fully conceal them. All in all, they are not much more difficult to install or use than a standard doorway between rooms. They do, however, take much more effort in precision and detail, which is why Sing Core is the industry’s go-to for hidden door panels.

Sing Core for Hidden Doors

Due to the importance of precision and function, Sing Core panels work great for hidden doors. Sing Core panels are the most accurate, dimensionally stable, and warp free material out there when it comes to door panels. Our panels are incredibly strong, and yet lightweight enough to be easy to install and provide less wear on the hardware. They are also structurally guaranteed, as each professional panel comes with a 50 Year Warp-Free and Structural guarantee. It isn’t good for any door to warp or bend, but especially for a hidden door, as that not only limits its function, but also its core design. It’s much harder to “hide” something that is bending out from the wall. That is why we recommend using Sing Core, as you not only get a high quality and one-of-a-kind product, but also the 50 year promise that the hidden door will continue to look and work beautifully.

Pivot Doors in Commercial Builds

When it comes to commercial buildings, the choice of doors can play a critical role in the overall functionality and design of the space. One type of door that is immensely popular in the architecture industry is the pivot door. Pivot doors offer several benefits that make them an attractive choice for a range of commercial applications, from storefronts and galleries to hotels and offices. In this article, we’ll explore some of the different uses for pivot doors in commercial buildings and how Sing Core can help you achieve the perfect look and functionality for your space.

First, let’s take a look at what makes pivot doors so appealing. Unlike traditional hinged doors that swing on a set of hinges, pivot doors are anchored at the top and bottom, allowing them to rotate smoothly on a fixed pivot point. This design allows for larger and heavier doors to be used, while still maintaining ease of operation. Pivot doors are also known for their sleek, modern look, with clean lines and minimal hardware that create a contemporary feel.

One common use for pivot doors in the commercial scene is as a store entrance. Pivot doors can create an impressive and welcoming entrance for customers, while also allowing for easy accessibility. Additionally, the larger size and unique possibilities of pivot doors can help to make a small storefront appear more spacious and inviting. With Sing Core’s expertise in custom door design, you can choose from a variety of finishes and styles to create a unique entrance that reflects your brand’s aesthetic.

Another popular feature of pivot doors in commercial applications is the possibilities when it comes to size. Pivot doors, unlike hinged doors, can be massive without having to worry about breaking hardware. Pivot doors often make use of much more durable hardware that their hinged counterparts, and by mounting them from the top and bottom you are securing it in a way that puts less overall wear on said hardware. Sing Core panels are particularly great for pivot doors, as their lightweight and highly customizable nature means you can get nearly any door, and of nearly any size, while it remains light and easy to use. With Sing Core’s custom design capabilities, you can also create pivot doors that perfectly match the existing theme of your space, while still providing the functionality you need.

In hotels and other hospitality spaces, pivot doors can be used to create an impressive and memorable entrance. For example, a grand pivot door could be used to create a dramatic entrance to a hotel lobby or event space. Pivot doors can also be used to create privacy and separation within rooms, such as between a sleeping area and a living space, or between two office spaces. With Sing Core’s expertise in creating custom doors, you can create a one-of-a-kind entrance or room divider that will leave a lasting impression on guests.

Finally, pivot doors can be used in a variety of other commercial settings, such as museums, galleries, and retail spaces. In these settings, pivot doors can provide a clean and contemporary look that complements the existing décor while also providing a functional solution for separating spaces or creating an impressive entrance.

In conclusion, pivot doors are a versatile and stylish choice for a wide range of commercial applications. With Sing Core’s expertise in custom door design and manufacturing, you can create the perfect pivot door for your space, whether you’re looking for a grand entrance, a meeting room divider, or a sleek and modern look for your storefront. Contact Sing Core today to learn more about how we can help you create the perfect pivot door for your commercial building.
