Since standard Sing museum and trade show panels feature built-in wood frames and have many skin options such as  wood, metal, HPL, FRP, magnesium board (for sound deadening), as exterior treatment, simple carpentry skills and wood working tools are all that is needed to modify or beautify your panels on site completing your work of art. You will not confused by European imported museum panels that come with dozens of metal parts and heavy aluminum frames to reinforce the panel’s strength. Alternatively Sing Museum Walls, shelves and displays embrace good, old-fashioned American wood craftmanship. European import paper core and particle board lack the strength compared to patented Sing Core and solid skins provided by Sing Museum wall panels.

It’s amazing what an impact some wood trim/molding can add to the appearance of your project. We can provide finishing at extra charge, or you can do it yourself in house.

Even though Sing Panels can be joined in any configuration or designed to your specifications we have a system available for our standard 2.25″ panels that include a connector stile with cam-lock receptacles to match your Sing Panels and we can accommodate any angle to meet your requirements.

Trade Show Panels Q & A

New SIP Structural Insulated Panels Sips

SIP-structural-insulated-panels-sipsSIPs are Structural Insulated Panels that are a technology that helped to revolutionize the light construction building industry by using pre-panelized components to build entire structures.

Each Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) is manufactured featuring a foam core sandwiched between two OSB (Oriented Strand Board) skins. The thickness of each completed SIP starts at 4-to-6 inches and goes up from there.

SIPs are structurally stable, insulated and reduce construction labor costs.

While SIPs are being widely accepted in the home and green building community, a revolutionary, new patented design improves on the SIP concept significantly.

Homebuilders using SIPs for their exterior walls are now seeking out new alternatives for thinner but stronger internal components like walls, ceilings and floors made of Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels.

Patented Sing Reinforced Structural Insulated Panels (SRSIP)

SIP-Sing-Insulated-Panels-sips-panel-made-in-USAInventor, Peter Sing, envisioned a fusion of old and new technologies into a hybrid composite building material that is the affordable Eco-friendly solution to limitations of traditional building materials challenging architects, designers and contractors today.

Sing’s patented design features an improved wood torsion box core that has been known by woodcraftsmen to offer strength and stability for centuries.

This newly invented core bonds wall-to-wall foam to fill the torsion box voids and exterior surface materials together creating a solid Eco-friendly composite that is lightweight and stronger than steel pound for pound.

Due to the built-in torsion box structure, much more structural strength can be achieved using less material, reducing the weight and thickness of Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels. See specs

Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels start at ¾-to-1 inch in comparison to standard SIPs that start at 2-to-4 inches thick.

Sing Panels enable the builder to create designs that are frame-free because the built-in torsion box structure is more dimensionally stable than a standard stick-framed structure and they are pre-insulated for energy efficiency and sound deadening qualities.

Super-strength

Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels can have over 700 PSI compression strength in comparison to the standard foam used in SIPs which rates at about 15 PSI. There just is no comparison to Sing’s torsion-box-hybrid.

This superior strength enables Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels to outperform other material and has already established a demand with high-end millworks for excellence in maintaining true flatness over long spans, as true flat doors or counter tops over 16 feet in length cannot be affordably lightweight, or straight over long spans, or resistant to warp, twist or rot without using patented Sing Core, which is structurally guaranteed for 10 years, is easy to repair and designed to last for lifetimes.

In fact, if your Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panel is damaged for any reason (even if it’s your fault) we will repair it to its original structural strength.

Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels are so strong, in fact, that entire homes are built using them and they are also used in lightweight high-strength post and beam applications.

Super-thin

Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels are so much thinner than other building materials because of the internal torsion box foam-filled frame structure. While SIPs rely on the exterior stress skin to supply the overall strength of each panel, Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels have the strength built-in requiring very little from the external material, except to complete the torsion box construction.

For instance, standard SIPs have an exterior OSB skin of .50 inch thickness on either side of the foam core, while Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels can have an HPL skin of .020 inch. That’s a savings of 96% in exterior materials, but still extremely strong. See comparison to other building materials.

Highly Customizable

Sing patented reinforced structural insulated panels can be built to your specifications. Whatever your specific requirements are for your project, Sing Core can create the exact panel(s) that you need to make your dream come true. This is why the most reputable architects and high-end millworks in the nation seek us out to solve their size/weight/strength challenges.

Many specifications can be customized to meet your needs, like:

  • sing-core-photo-gallery-lightweight-high-strength-ecofriendlyTrue flat (straight) and stay flat

Torsion Box

Traditional-Torsion-Box-DiagramTorsion box design in woodworking is basically a number of wooden boxes assembled together to make up the core material sandwiched between two sheets of wood. This is a labor-intensive process for craftsmen, but does produce a lighter-than-solid-wood product that has increased strength due to the torsion box interior.

Click for How to Buy Torsion Box Sandwich Panel

Craftsmen have been using torsion box for centuries, but it takes a skilled craftsman hours if not days to create a table… Sing Core provides craftsmen with the torsion box structure pre-built. Doing so allows you to make 50 times more tables or 100 or more Sing Torsion Box 2 in x 12 inch x 8 planks in a single day. Wood products made of patented Sing Torsion Box lumber, panels, posts or beams can be easily mass produced in a small work shop without adding any heavy wood working machines. The labor-saving and high-quality will make it possible to bring the furniture making jobs back home, creating jobs and improving local economies while reducing the impact of imported furniture.

Inventor Peter Sing has taken torsion box technology to the next level, making massive improvements to the primitive, yet effective, torsion box design.

Sing Improvement # 1: Flip the script.

torsion box animationThe first improvement on the traditional torsion box design was so simple that it was merely, “a gift,” as Sing explains. Torsion box grids have always been an effective way to produce a large wooden surface, while retaining some integrity of strength and resulting in a lighter weight end product. “But,” says Sing, “the wood material used to construct the torsion boxes always used horizontal grain.” By reorienting the grain to be vertical, the resulting torsion box became 10 times stronger than the horizontal grain original designs, but he wasn’t done, yet…

Sing Improvement # 2: Fill the void.

The next step was to fill the void with a stable, yet lightweight, material. Recycled foam was the answer. By filling the vacant space in each cavity of the torsion box, edge to edge greatly increased the strength of the torsion box, as well as adding insulation and sound deadening properties, without adding much noticeable weight increase.

Sing Improvement # 3: Fuse the structure.

The final step in Sing’s revolution in torsion box design was to develop a method to bond all the necessary components together resulting in a nearly indestructible, yet solid, lightweight structure. Experimentation led to discovering superior bonding agents for superior adhesion that will not breakdown due to stress on the structure or over time… and this was achieved without the use of formaldehyde or toxic chemicals.

Torsion-Box-Club-617The result is a natural torsion box design combined with recycled materials that could be used as a substrate for nearly any building material, making Sing Torsion Box the composite material of the future.Sing Core is also Eco-friendly, “True green,” Sing calls it because it is all manufactured naturally, with little energy consumption, uses recycled materials with little or no waste. It also reduces the greenhouse effect in fuel expended in the delivery of the material due to being so lightweight. Manpower reduction is also an effective savings due to its lightweight characteristics.

Sing Core is proudly manufactured in the USA in McCleary, Washington, and due to its lightweight attributes can be shipped to any location on Earth at a fraction of the cost of other, traditional solid building materials while maintaining strength over long spans, much stronger than any other natural materials.

Even though Sing Core is less expensive than most solid material, the end result is more structurally sound, lightweight, will not compromise over time and reduces the amount of man-hours and equipment to install.

Sing Core is a honeycomb sandwich panel composite material with built in structural grids. Sing Core could have the exterior surface skin of any material including, but not limited to wood (seen in photo), metal, plastic, glass, Kevlar, even concrete and cement. The strength of our design is due to the structural grids made of naturally abundant, renewable, vertical grain veneer wood fiber. Sing Core is constructed in a fashion similar to torsion box technology most commonly found in the aeronautics and space exploration industries.

This technology is what allows our panels remain strong, lightweight, and flat without denting, cracking, and warping. See a comparison here. Inventor Peter Sing uses this torsion box technology, along with wood fiber and foam to create patented Sing honeycomb core: the incredibly strong, true flat, lightweight, renewable composite material of the future. Check out our products section to see a few different applications.

Engineering Myth-busters

  • Heavy is not equivalent to strong
  • Lightweight is not equivalent to weak
  • Expensive material does not ensure high function
  • Solid material is overused and not ecologically responsible

Most construction is a waste of materials, natural resources and has a negative impact on our planet. Solid materials are overused in an attempt to increase the strength or lifespan of the project. This excess of materials and resources is not necessary… and can be likened to killing a fly with a machine gun.

It may be hard to believe, at first, but for the first time in our history, a truly responsible structural alternative can be found in Sing Core technology. Many of our clients were skeptical when they queried us about our lightweight and strong solutions to their design challenges.

That is why Sing Core is the secret ingredient found in the homes, offices, estates and showrooms of royalty, political and religious high-end environments. Once you try the Sing Core alternative, you will never go back to traditional building materials in some cases.

Traditional honeycomb panels have come to the rescue addressing the lightweight needs of industry. Sing Core is compatible to (if not well out-performing) most honeycomb technology in terms of weight, but no other honeycomb core can compare to Sing Core in terms of strength. None.

Before today, you did not know about Sing Core’s environmentally responsible solutions to function and sustainability. Now that you do, what will you do with that knowledge?

Take the Sing Core challenge.
