Standard sandwich panels utilize an insulating foam core sandwiched in between two thin sheets of hard material.  However, this design offers very little strength and durability. Sandwich panels made by Sing Core are stronger, lighter, and more eco-friendly than these conventional panels because we replace the standard foam core with our patented vertical grain, natural veneer torsion box grid also known as the Sing Core.  For the consumer, this translates into a higher quality product at a fraction of the cost.

Insulated doors made with traditional sandwich panels are highly susceptible to dents and structural damage because of their weak foam core.  Doors made with our Sing Core sandwich panel technology can withstand much higher impacts resulting in little or no damage due to our unique core properties.  The University of Washington has confirmed that our doors can withstand pressure of up to 660 psi, as compared to the average sandwich panel which can only withstand 60-100 psi.

There are many ways to join Sing Panels

Simple Joining

The simplest and least expensive way to join sing panels is to join in any way according to your budget and/or expertise.

Due to Sing Panels being so straight and true it is easier to join panels together because they line up perfectly unlike other building materials.

Other options for fastening panels may include cam locks (see examples left and right) that can be pre-installed, making assembly and joining easy and more secure.


The Sing cam-lock panel solution is a high-demand solution for panels that are routinely assembled and disassembled, especially in moveable walls, trade show booths, and various wall cladding applications. See: Cam Lock Panels

Thru-bolt Joining

One of the most inexpensive and secure ways to join sing panels is by utilizing a simple nut and bolt connection method, especially, if the panels will be routinely or repeatedly assembled and disassembled.

Stainless steel nuts and bolts offer the safety and security when joining sing panels.

 

Biscuit Joining

In many cases, Sing Panels can be pre-configured for biscuit joining at your site of factory.

Especially for large projects, this enables Sing Core panels to be sent individually, reducing shipping and handling costs, for assembly at your facility or job site.

Edge Banding

Unless specified Sing Panels do not ship edge-banded as 93% of our wholesale customers do their own edge-banding when finishing their Sing Panel.

Edge banding can take many forms from vinyl and plastic to wood and steel. Sing Panels are not intended for use as an un-banded product and may not qualify for our 50 year warranty if un-banded.

Advanced Large Panels

Sing Core specializes in extremely large panels (up to 50 feet) that are extremely true flat and use our nearly seamless assembly process.

This is the most high-end and expensive process where we perform the highly specialized meticulous work in our factory yielding the high level of perfection that many of our most discerning clients require. See: our clients.

These must be manufactured in our plant to ensure accuracy with tolerances within thousandths of an inch and are more costly to ship due to the nature of their being larger than multiple panels that can be assembled on-site.

Connectors for Connecting

Cam-Locks

One of our many features is the ability to add fasteners/locks to our panels…one example of this is the “S-Hook Lock” with a turn of the hex wrench you can fasten or unfasten your panels quickly.

The “S-Hook” fastening lock that is attached to the side of these panels to allow for easy assembly of the wall system.

With a quick turn of your wrist on the hex key your panels will be attached to each other.

 

 

Barn Door Assembly or ‘H’ Channel

If you are planning to keep your panels as a permanent structure you may choose the H-Channel attachment feature. Apply your adhesive the slide panel into the channel on each side then either veneer over the panel and channel or you may choose to putty, sand and paint your panels to cover over the H-channel.

Tongue and Groove

Tongue and groove is another fastening choice especially if you using our panels for flooring or ceiling. Make a nice almost seamless connection but give wood veneer a hardwood flooring appearance.

Biscuit Joint

This is a modified biscuit joint attachment. Similar to the H-joint the you are using a single long “beam” as the connector and gluing them together. Best use is for oversize tables (such as vacuum tables) and oversize doors as well. Because our panels are made of honeycomb rather than solid wood, they will not warp. Our honeycomb is light and strong.

Ship Lap

The ever popular ship lap as a connector alternative.

Punch through a Sing door and you will break your hand. If you can manage to punch through a Sing core punch-proof door and don’t break your hand then you will get a free sing door from us.

The most common doors used in most homes are paper core doors. With one punch you can destroy one of these flims doors. Once the door is broken you will need to take it to a door shop to get if fixed or replaced and then take it back and install it. The cost is not only a door, it is how to dispose of it, take it in and out of the shop, build or replace the door and install it. Why not just buy a Sing door to begin with. Sing doors are not much more expensive than paper core doors when consider the life span and they are free. What is your time worth?

Stronger than Steel,

Lighter than Wood

Your door doesn’t have to be steel to be strong. Sing Honeycomb Doors are stronger, lighter and more stylish than steel and vinyl doors due to the torsion box core.

Yes, Sing Core does make the best reinforced structural insulated panels (RSIP) for use in Tiny House applications as walls, floors, ceilings and roofs. We have a huge desire to support the tiny house industry but be aware that we only offer Sing Panels for tiny house construction to professional distribution channels. Since we offer no support for our products (besides what is readily available via our web site). Our operation is not setup to sell our products to people in need of retail customer service. We suggest that you seek answers to any questions about how to use Sing panels by consulting with your engineer, architect, builder or contractor.

Note: We do occasionally offer products direct to the do it yourselfer, like Tiny House panel Kits or Tiny House Surplus Panels. Though we may provide you with the materials, we offer no how-to support to the DIY enthusiast except that which is available via our Tiny House FAQ (frequently asked questions) and other online resources.

Sing Ceiling Core

 

Sing Core is a veneer torsion box embedded in EPS foam. You can finish Sing Core with any load bearing facial material. In our core, we use the strongest material in the strongest form: vertical grain veneer! Our grid is stronger than other honeycomb sandwich cores because the veneer is arranged with the grain perpendicular to the skin.

Sing Panels come complete with solid wood edging sandwiched in between the skins.  Sing Panels and Beams are ready to distribute to consumers and businesses.  Sing Panels are ready to be stained or painted depending on order type. Just assemble, prepare, paint and enjoy.

Insulation value: The R-Value of Sing Honeycomb Core is 3.5-6.5, whereas that of solid wood ranges from .71-1.4.

Strength: Vertical grain veneer enables a 2”x4’x8’ Sing panel to withstand up to 600 lbs.

Long Straight Beam

Precision: Torsion Box structure is no longer a dream for the highly trained craftsman. Our endless I beam construction keeps the surface of our panels flatter than solid wood (within .007in!).

Fire Resistance: Level 2

Acclimatization:
Sing Honeycomb Panels acclimatizing; according to the type of the skin. Aluminum, metal, plastic skin, concrete, and ceramic skin will be delivered in perfectly straight condition without any acclimatizing, plywood, hardboard, and hpl because it will take much less time to acclimatize than mdf. The best way to acclimatize is stand panels on edge with 4” or more of equal spacing between each panel.
