Create The Best Doors with Windows Using Sing Core

Doors with windows in them offer a myriad of benefits, from enhancing natural light to improving aesthetics. However, designing and constructing such doors pose unique challenges. In this article, we will explore these challenges and discuss why Sing Core is the leading choice in the industry for creating custom doors with windows.

Structural Integrity and Stability

One of the primary challenges in manufacturing doors with windows lies in maintaining structural integrity and stability. The addition of a window weakens the door’s core, making it prone to warping, bending, or even breaking. Traditional materials like wood or metal struggle to address this issue effectively, leading to compromised durability.

Sing Core, on the other hand, employs a patented honeycomb core that utilizes torsion box construction. This design consists of high quality hardwood and industrial insulation in a perfectly crafted core that is unlike anything else on the market. The resulting core is lightweight yet incredibly strong, ensuring optimal stability and minimizing the risk of warping or bending. In addition, every Sing Core door comes with a 50 Year Warp-Free and Structural Guarantee, so you never have to worry about your door warping or failing on you.

|

Insulation and Energy Efficiency

Windows inherently pose challenges to insulation and energy efficiency. They are susceptible to air leakage, resulting in increased energy consumption and decreased comfort levels. In addition, low end doors provide little to no insulation themselves, which compounds the issue. Maintaining a consistent temperature and preventing drafts is crucial in achieving energy-efficient doors with windows.

Sing Core’s composite core technology excels in insulation properties. Its honeycomb structure provides an exceptional thermal barrier, significantly reducing heat transfer and air leakage. This insulation prowess helps maintain desired indoor temperatures, resulting in reduced energy costs and enhanced comfort.

Acoustic Performance

Another challenge faced in creating doors with windows is maintaining acoustic performance. Noise transmission through the window can disrupt privacy, productivity, and overall tranquility. Traditional doors often struggle to provide adequate sound insulation, especially when windows are incorporated.

Sing Core’s unique construction offers remarkable sound deadening properties. The combination of its core and the high-quality materials creates a barrier that effectively absorbs sound vibrations. While a glass window will lessen the sound reduction in general, improving this quality throughout the rest of the door improves the overall effect compared to traditional materials. This superior acoustic performance helps maintain quiet and peaceful environments, making Sing Core doors with windows ideal for offices, bedrooms, or any space that requires noise control.

Design Flexibility

Crafting doors with windows also involves the challenge of achieving design flexibility. Customization options are vital to match diverse architectural styles, interior aesthetics, and functional requirements. Balancing aesthetics, functionality, and structural integrity can be demanding.

Sing Core doors excel in offering design versatility, especially when integrating components into the surface such as a window. It can accommodate various window sizes and shapes, allowing for creative design possibilities. Whether it’s an expansive glass panel or a series of smaller windows, Sing Core’s composite core technology ensures the door’s stability and integrity, regardless of the chosen window configuration.

Conclusion

Crafting doors with windows presents unique challenges that require innovative solutions. Sing Core’s composite core technology provides the ideal answer, offering exceptional structural integrity, insulation, acoustic performance, and design flexibility. With Sing Core, manufacturers and consumers can enjoy the benefits of doors with windows without compromising on quality or durability.

Lounge Room Door Made With Sing Core

Sing Core has been working with several universities regarding custom doors lately, such as with the University of Idaho and their arena door, the University of Alabama and a sorority house door, and now the University of Maryland with a custom sliding door for one of their lounges.

|

The University of Maryland worked with the brilliant people at USAM to get a large custom sliding door for their Heritage Community lounge room, and they reached out to Sing Core to make that work. Sing Core and USAM worked together to create a beautiful 3 piece modular sliding door. This door can separate into three panels along the sliding track, allowing for a custom setup to the walkway. It can also be completely opened and closed in order to really open up the area.

This large sliding door measures 168 inches wide by 120 inches tall, and is 2 inches thick. It contained splines to stiffen the panels and further improve the structural integrity, as well as a Formica finishing panel to give it that gorgeous end result. The door parts slide along an upper rail, which provides smooth and reliable operation.

This lounge room is in Pyon-Chen hall, one of two areas that make up the Heritage Community at UMD. It is a multipurpose location, intended to suit all sorts of recreational and student needs. Due to the location, the unique modular aspect, and the traffic, the designers of this door needed to make sure they got a high quality, durable, and long lasting product. That is why they went with Sing Core, and we are honored that they did!

Sing Core panels have many benefits over traditional door making methods, but there are three main ones that relate to a project like this: strength and durability, weight, and lifespan.

Sing Core doors are incredibly strong and durable, though surprisingly lightweight. This is possible due to the patented honeycomb core used within every Sing Core door. This honeycomb core provides exceptional strength and impact resistance, while also remaining amazingly lightweight. Where a traditional door panel may take several people to haul and install, most Sing Core panels can be carried by only two people, and even one if the panel is sized right.

The patented core and high grade materials used also give our doors outstanding durability, preventing many of the damages that would otherwise leave a door ugly or unusable. Especially being in a high-traffic area such as a university lounge room, durability, impact resistance, and longevity are vital. Heavy traffic walkways can see increased damage to the doors and walls around them. Sing Core doors aren’t easily damaged, and if they do receive a ding or scratch, they are easy to repair. In addition, all Sing Core panels are guaranteed to be warp-free for 50 years, which is unheard of in the door market. Warped doors are a massive problem, and unfortunately, many doors can eventually warp, regardless of the care put into making them. Sing Core doors, however, are guaranteed to never warp, and that is all thanks to the unique construction used to make them.

Sing Core is thrilled to have had the chance to work on this amazing project. Thanks again to the University of Maryland and the talented design and installation teams, as this would not have been possible without them.

If you have a large custom door project you’re working on, don’t hesitate to contact Sing Core for a quote!

Sorority House Installs Sing Core Door

The University of Alabama is an outstanding institution with a vast amount of students, clubs, and organizations. Among these proud groups are fraternities and sororities, particularly the Tri Delta Sorority. Tri Delta is a sisterhood that was formed in 1888 by two young women, and has continued to be a fun and inclusive community for students ever since.

The Project

The Tri Delta sorority house serves many purposes and hosts many events, some of which are meetings in a set meeting hall. This hall needed a large sliding door to allow entrance from the nearby chamber, and the amazing designers at Ellis Architects worked with Sing Core to make that door happen. The door consists of two panels, both measuring 89 inches by 103.5 inches, and was finished with 3/8 inch MDF.

Why They Chose Sing Core

There are many reasons why the designers and builders chose Sing Core for this project, and several of them come down to the needs of the room and the benefits of Sing Core. Some of the main reasons builders use Sing Core is for the strength, durability, and lightweight nature of our panels. These benefits apply to every use. A strong door is essential to withstanding impacts and heavy traffic, and being lightweight improves a door’s function, ease of use, and extends the life of its hardware. A durable door means it will continue to function for a long time without needing repair or replacement, and Sing Core hits all three of these points.

Light and Strong

Sing Core doors are pound for pound stronger than steel, and incredibly lightweight. This is achieved through our patented honeycomb core construction technology. Our core is strong and insulated, as well as very light. It can out-perform other conventional building methods while remaining a fraction of their weight. This lightweight nature also improves its ease of use, as a lighter door is going to swing or slide open much easier than a heavier version.

Durable and Long-Lasting

It seems an odd thought to many that a door can fail, but it happens all the time. Doors made in various ways can bend, warp, crack, delaminate, or do one of many other catastrophic things that renders them useless. Sometimes these issues can be repaired, but it’s best to never have them happen in the first place. Sing Core doors are incredibly durable, and carry the industry’s only 50 Year Warp and Fail Free Guarantee. Our doors will never warp, bend, twist, or otherwise fail, and that is all due to our innovative honeycomb core and the high quality materials we use in the construction process.

Other Perks of Sing Core

There are even more reasons why Sing Core was the best pick for this project, including design versatility and sound reduction. Sing Core has many different options when it comes to panel design, including custom dimensions, numerous options for finish, and other optional traits. In addition, our insulated core provides added sound dampening, reducing noise pollution and allowing the meeting hall to remain focused and isolated from outside noise.

Sing Core is honored to have been included in this project, and are thrilled with the amazing design work of Ellis Architects and the installation of the building team. If you are an architect or designer interested in using Sing Core for a project, we encourage you to submit a quote on our website so we can discuss how Sing Core can elevate your project.

Large Doors by Sing Core

We often mention how amazing Sing Core is for making large, or even massive doors. However, what kind of claim would that be if we couldn’t back it up with proof? In this article we will go over three amazing and massive doors that were made possible by Sing Core, as well as why Sing Core panels are the best, and often the only choice to make large doors possible.

Laserfiche Dual Sliding Doors

The first example of large doors we’ll cover is a set of two sliding doors made for the Laserfiche headquarters in California. The largest of these doors is 102 inches tall by 118 inches wide, or 8.5 feet tall by 9.8 feet wide. The designers and installation crew did an amazing job with these beautiful doors, especially given their unique case of closing off the corner of the room as opposed to a more traditional sliding door setup. You can read more about this project here.

University of Idaho Arena Door

Another recent project that yielded a massive and gorgeous door was this crowd control door for the Idaho Central Arena. This large door measures in at 89.5 inches tall and 120.5 inches wide, or approximately 7.5 feet tall by 10 feet wide. This door acts as both an access point and a traffic control mechanism. When closed, this door simply seals off an area, but by opening it and positioning it as desired, you can divert the massive crowds within the arena onto a new route. Due to its use in a high traffic area, it also needs to be more sturdy and durable than a traditional door, which was made easy with Sing Core. You can read more about this project here.

Giant Pink Door

Though we’ve shown this door off before, it simply can’t be left off of this list. It is a perfect example of a large custom door that simply would not have been possible without Sing Core. This door is 156 inches tall by 36 inches wide, or 13 feet tall by 3 feet wide. In addition to this door’s unique and massive size, it also needed one key feature of Sing Core panels: to be lightweight. This door, unlike most large doors, is mounted on hinges. Typically large doors use rollers or a pivot mechanism, however not this one. As such, it had to be incredibly lightweight for its size, as hinges are far more likely to bend, break, or otherwise develop problems if they are supporting a lot of weight. This door, like all Sing Core doors, is very light compared to traditional options, and yet sacrifices none of the strength.

There are many reasons why you may want to use Sing Core for your large doors, but ultimately what makes our product special is its superior strength, high quality, and low weight. In addition, our panels will never warp or bend, which large doors are especially prone to. Warping is a quick way to permanently ruin a door, but with Sing Core, you can rest easy knowing that it will never happen. In fact, we offer a 50 Year Warp-Free Guarantee as a testament to that fact.

Use Sing Core for your large custom doors, and witness the difference and ease as a result!

Another benefit of Sing Core doors is their lightweight construction. This makes them much easier to open and close, which is particularly important in areas where people are constantly coming and going, and especially so for any large crowd-control door. In addition, the lightweight nature of Sing Core doors means that they put less strain on hinges and other door hardware, which can help to extend the lifespan of these components. They are also significantly easier to transport and install when compared to the standard, much heavier options.

Long Lasting and Warp-Free

Sing Core doors are also 100% warp free, and are able to withstand exposure to moisture, temperature changes, and other environmental factors that can cause other types of doors to deteriorate or bend over time. In addition, they are incredibly durable, which means that they require minimal maintenance and are able to last for decades without needing to be repaired or replaced. In fact, each Professional Sing Core panel comes with a 50 Year Warp-Free and Structural Guarantee, so even in the unlikely event that your door does fail in some way, you won’t be left scrambling for a new one. Just contact us and we’ll make it right!

Customizability

Finally, Sing Core doors are also highly customizable. They can be made to fit any size or shape, and can be designed to match the aesthetic of any space. This means that they are the perfect choice for architects and designers who are looking to create a cohesive and visually appealing space.

In conclusion, Sing Core is the ideal material for doors in high-traffic areas. With its unmatched strength, durability, and lightweight construction, it is able to withstand the constant wear and tear that comes with these types of spaces, while also being highly customizable to fit any design aesthetic. Whether you are building a commercial space, public building, or any other high-traffic area, Sing Core doors are the smart choice for lasting durability and performance.

The Importance of Lightweight Doors

Why Lightweight Doors Matter

When it comes to large, thick, or custom doors, weight matters a lot. A heavy door can be unwieldy, awkward, or hard to use. In addition, the heavier a door gets, the more complications can arise. These complications can range from minor inconveniences to major failures within the door itself, but regardless, they compromise the quality and function of your door. That’s why we suggest using Sing Core for your large or custom doors, as we make the best lightweight and strong door on the market.

Heavy Door Complications

It’s no stretch of logic to assume that the heavier a door gets, the more risk it poses in a variety of ways. Common issues with heavy doors include difficulty installing or using them, extra strain on hardware, and higher risk of injury. A large, hefty door may sound appealing, but when the mounting hardware bends or breaks under the weight, many things can happen. In the best case scenario, you have to take the door down and replace the hardware. In the worst case scenario, someone can get severely injured. In order to avoid this risk, you need to use heavier grade hardware, which can get increasingly expensive and difficult to come by depending on your door.

Light Door Solutions

If a heavy door causes many problems, then a light door should prevent them. Luckily, it does, and Sing Core doors are the best when it comes to keeping things light and strong. A lighter door has far less wear on its hardware, is much easier to install and operate, and can make the entire process of choosing and installing your custom or large door a lot more enjoyable. For one, you won’t need a team of 8 people to move the giant slab of wood. With a lightweight Sing Core door, you can often transport it with just a handful of people. Plus, with Sing Core doors, you don’t sacrifice strength for weight. Our panels are made with our patented and patent-pending honeycomb core, meaning they remain strong, sturdy, and guaranteed to never warp.

Large Doors

The biggest doors are often the heaviest, and that’s something else Sing Core is great for. Aside from just being lightweight, Sing Core panels provide additional securities when it comes to your large or custom door. The biggest concern with large doors is warping, as the larger surface area is prone to it. Sing Core’s honeycomb panels prevent warping, and we’re so confident in that statement that we offer a 50 Year Warp-Free Guarantee on all of our panels. A warped door can fundamentally ruin a door’s function, structural integrity, and more, and very few door makers can claim their product is free of that concern. Our warranty also promises the structural integrity of your door, so you also never have to worry about that.

Consider using Sing Core for your large, custom, or even standard door project. Interior doors, exterior doors, pivot, sliding, and more are all available through Sing Core.

Advantages of Sing Core for Commercial Applications

The Advantages of Sing Core for Commercial Applications

Sing Core has many uses and advantages in both home and commercial applications, though we tend to think more of the home applications than those in the office. We often undervalue the importance of things such as doors in the workplace, though they are essential to the daily operation and safety of our businesses.

Doors in the Workplace

The first type of door people often think of in the workplace is the front, back, or “entry/exit” doors. These are incredibly important when it comes to the safety and operation of a business, yes, but there are many more types of doors that are commonplace in commercial industries. One other common type is the standard interior, or office door. There are also “feature doors”, which are usually large, grand, and beautiful doors that act as the opening between important areas or large rooms (see this fantastic double sliding door at Laserfiche as an example). The other common types of door are security doors, room dividers, and more. Sing Core has experience making each of these, and our panels make an excellent choice for them.

The Advantages of Sing Core

While Sing Core’s benefits in the home and professional market are similar at their core, there are some features that excel in the industrial and business sectors. One such advantage is the ability to make large, custom, and lightweight doors with our patented core. Many businesses make use of these beautiful doors as their entry, or as a feature inside, but standard construction options lead to them being incredibly heavy, or come with many other downsides. Sing Core specializes in large doors, and we make them significantly lighter than other methods, while still retaining incredible strength and durability. Our panels are also guaranteed to remain warp-free and structurally sound for 50 years, so you never have to worry about your large custom door warping and becoming unusable on you.

Another major advantage to using Sing Core in the workplace is the insulating and sound-deadening properties of our panels. In a situation where privacy is important, like you’d expect in meeting rooms or offices where confidential information is shared, you need to ensure the security of that information with a door that reduces or eliminates the sound that passes through it. Sing Core doors do this incredibly well, as our insulated honeycomb design naturally muffles sound. This also makes it a must have for businesses close to a busy street, as the passive street sound can be a detriment to a workplace.

In addition to the sound-deadening nature, we also offer a Sing Core Security Door for applications where safety and protection are essential. If your business holds high-end electronics in specific rooms, or perhaps you have sensitive documents and information, you need to ensure that the door you use to secure those areas can hold up to any attempt to break in. A Sing Core Security Door is reinforced with steel bars to guarantee the safety of what you hold on the other side.

Summary

Sing Core products deliver many valuable properties to both home and commercial applications, and we encourage you to reach out to learn more about how Sing Core can fit in at your home or office!
